Illuminating
A very brave man (and wife) .He pulls no punches in criticising his fellow Germans and rails against the lies of Nazism and the stupidity of most Germans in believing and more importantly wanting to believe the lies .He explains the fetishisation of militarism in Germany before the Nazis took control helped Hitler to power. He points out how the Germans loved receiving medals , some undeserved , during the war.He makes no excuses for the behaviour of most Germans during the Nazi period .Most were out for personal gain whether from Jews or the citizens of the invaded countries.I'm sure he would be railing against the rise of the AFD today

This book should be more widely known
My goodness, what brave people Mr and Mrs Kellner were. This book gives a fascinating view of life in Nazi Germany, and how effective Goebbels' propaganda was. I am surprised that this book is not more widely known. This is essential reading for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of everyday life in wartime Germany.

Excellent
I am really enjoying this book. The mixture of actual broadcasts and publications followed by Kellner’s comments is very well balanced. It is fairly hard going but worth the effort. My only criticism is that the book is so physically heavy. I have to put it on a stand to read it.
