I recently tripped on my laptop power cord which tore out the power supply wire and broke the piece inside . I was pretty concerned but this new plug in was cheap , and easy to install . There is also a video to help you install it . Piece of cake , now works like new .

The rubber grommet came out of the factory one. This made a quick fix, and it was a snug fit. I still had to get a new adapter as my factory one when charging was cutting in and out so must of had a bad wire in that. But works great now with the new adapter.

The installation was easy. After the installation, I plugged in the charger and it was hit and miss as far as charging is concerned. The charger connector also heated up. Worried that it may melt the charger connector and start a fire.

I'm glad Dell have switched to this method, instead of the DC port soldered on the board. I know I've had past laptops where the DC ports have gone bad. It's either you have it repaired or purchase a new laptop. If you're going to do this yourself, you have to have some degree of experience. If not you could easily short out the internal components. Also, there are helpful YouTube videos available to walk you through it. One thing I do like about this item is how snug it is when you plug in the power cord. It felt very secure. It's definitely better than factory. Cheers y'all!
