This is a lovely little solid box, well-made and pretty. However, if you order a box with a coloured wash, be aware you might not get what you ordered! I ordered a white wash (which was what the box was labelled) but upon opening it I saw it was more pink/lilac in colour.I am disappointed as I would like to order a white one again but I am worried the same thing will happen and I won’t have time to sort out before giving it as a Xmas present.

It made a nice gift box. The lid is a bit tight, but no complaints.

A lovely, genuine feeling box. Lids a bit tight, but is getting easier to open with use. Packaging and inside and outside of box had a lot of very fine sawdust on it. Easy to brush off, but people with lung problems might need to be careful.

Having attempted wood carving myself, I really appreciate the artistry of this box. It was an anniversary gift and hubby loved it, however I did feel a need to sand/file it down quite a bit first as the interior had a lot of rough/splintery bits. It's also a tight opener-- meaning you need to grip with 2 hands. More sanding would probably loosen it up. I added my own liner (just a cut out bit of drawer liner). It is a decent size, and I liked the fact that it doesn't have one of those flimsy locks that only get hung up each time you open the lid. I got the whitewashed one to make the design easier to see, and that worked out well. A nice gift to store small things that you don't need to get all the time. I wouldn't recommend this for frequent use unless you're willing to do a fair amount of sanding to make the fit less snug.
