RAW & REAL. GRIT & GRACE
The Fight to Flourish. 🥊🌿When I heard Pastor Jennie on a Sunday announced that she wrote a book/ not just any book- but a book with THIS title? I bursted into tears. I’ve never related to a title so strongly before in my life. I couldn’t WAIT to read it.This book was written from a struggle-from the thick of a fight and the most heartbreaking reality that we can face in this life- death. This book was written with a credible source as the author. A story of struggle. A struggle to even just breathe again when the air is knocked out of you- rendering you to a paralyzed state. Yet, any crushing circumstance placed into the Father’s hands has to be resurrected. Resurrection is who He is. It’s what He does. From the death of a seed that goes into the grown, at the right time, a flower springs forth- what you thought what was dead was really only just planted. That is this book. From the ground of grief- life & hope springs up again.I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and luckily for me I was added to be a part of this launch group that was able to read it before the rest of the world. I needed this book at this time and place in my journey and what feels like the biggest fight my life. I read it within a few days of it being in my hands. It has stirred up my faith in the best possible way. To keep going & growing. Keep trusting.I recently know all too well what it has felt like getting punched & knocked out by circumstances out of my control- but still longing for an abundant life that God could still use. Fighting for beauty in this life in the midst of such hard things. Little did I know/ and that God-already knew- (of course he did) that while I read the most tragic chapter in this story which happened to be (Good Friday) - Jennie losing her precious daughter & then going to heaven. Gut punch. Not even an hour later I would receive some of the most devastating news in my whole life and in my own story. I do believe that God prepared me to receive this news by reading that chapter that same morning. There is no questioning it.God doesn’t waste our pain- I’m thankful I had this book in the palm of my hands (on my iPhone kindle app) the same morning I found out my precious father was diagnosed with cancer. Knocked the wind right out of me. Blow after blow. But He is still here, He is still with me. Fighting for me & with me. & this book is a tangible gift showing me His presence in this time.He gives and takes away but bless it be the name of the Lord. He is still good- even in this pain- there is still TIME to fight the good fight. And that right there is the blessing.Jenny talks about boxing rounds. Being in the ring of life, fight after fight. A fight for our life- a fight for honor a fight for joy- A fight to push aside our feelings & replace them with His truth & His promises. A fight to show up for people that need us most. A fight for sweetness & not bitterness –a fight to flourish no matter what circumstances may come at you.Jenny I am so sorry that what caused you so much pain caused you to write this book. This is your testimony, your God story of how He showed up for you- your testimony that is bringing strength to those of us who are in a fight to flourish in our lives too- no matter what comes our way. Thank you for waking up every day and continuing to show up to your fight. You give a huge dose of courage for those of us that need to show up for ours.I don’t know why God allows such suffering and heartbreak but I do know that it has a way of producing something far greater in our lives that we could ever know. Jennie’s quote is resonating with me: & that truth I want to share with everyone I know & love- “I don’t have to understand God in order to trust Him.”Jennie, Thank you for writing this book - it’s so brave. & thank you for trusting God with your greatest pain & your story. He promises to use it for good. You’re giving us the gritty courage to trust Him with our story too... with God as our backing- in our corner of the ring. 🥊🙏🏼Sorry my review was so long. But this book was SO good. This world needs this message SO bad. I know I did. ❤️

One of the most refreshingly raw books I have read in years!
Jeanie Lusko will leave you feeling like you just made a friend for life. Her easy flowing writing style will make you feel like you’re sitting across the couch from her drinking coffee while she shares the hard won truths in her battle to flourish in the midst of tragedy. The journal entries she shares are raw and gut wrenching but will fill you with hope that you, too, are going to make it. Her stories are fresh, real, and relatable and will cause you to cry with her one minute and laugh with understanding the next. While I have never had the privilege of meeting her or even hearing her speak- I hope to one day do both!

Impactful and Easy to Read
Jennie’s story is raw, emotional, and so impactful. It was easy to read yet deep in concept. By the end of the book I found myself walking with my head a little higher. She provides hope and perspective to incredibly heavy events. Her example has been very challenging and encouraging. If you need some strength back, some fight back in your life, then this is the book for you.

Incredible, Powerful, Honest and Encouraging
I loved the honesty in the realities of life and how Christ is with us through it all, healing, empowering, strengthening, and bringing comfort. The heavy times in life are hard but it’s often the place of growth, refinement in character and new life. Really appreciated this book, the Scripture she made sure to share is the foundation for the lessons she shared and the honesty (raw reality) of hardship healed me to know we’re not alone. Powerful read!

Beautifully written with a lot of heart
This book is straight from the heart of the author and her experiences. She relates a lot of points with quick analogies-especially to boxing which is obviously something she really relates to. The underlying message of the book is one that spoke to me in my own journey of healing and restoration from tragic circumstances…I love the seed packet analogy and yes, I am also going to flourish in spite of the dark seasons that life can bring. Thank you for writing this book. It’s timeliness in my life was directly from God who lead me to find it.:).

Read it! You won’t regret it!
Through Jennie’s book you will see she is the perfect example of completely diving into a hard situation. Learning from it and strengthening others through her experience. All of us face hard situations, things we have to battle. Though our battles may not be the same as Jennies, this book will definitely give you the encouragement you need in whatever battle you are in. You will learn that you need the darkness of the battle to help you flourish.Jennie’s use of imagery through plants and boxing really help emphasize all her points. You will be left with visual real life examples that will point you to Jesus. After reading I was left encouraged and truly saw the beauty of continuing my fight to be who Jesus wants me to be.I highly encourage you to not only read the book but also do the Bible study and watch the DVD’s. You won’t regret it!

An uplifting read we all need
My cousin was battling bone cancer and started a book club around this book. We met weekly and found such strength through the reading and activities (sold separately). She really appreciated this novel, and I appreciate the time it gave me with her to reflect and find strength in God before her passing.

Love the author not the quality of paper used.
I love the content and author 5 stars for that, but the cover page is dull and pages inside are off white even though is just 2020 version. Other books I bought by Pastor Levi Lusko that came yesterday are better quality.

Excellent read
Jennie Lusco is an excellent role model in showing us the fight to flourish. I love that she is real and honest in everyday life both personally, as a husband a mum and a church leader. Everything she does and says points the reader to Christ. I would love to meet her she seems a beautiful person inside and out.
