Best of Bollywood: The Ultimate Tribute to Kishore Kumar

This box set has a nice mix of old and new Bollywood music.Sound quality is good, of course better on the new tracks than the old (but that's how they were recorded, so what can you do?).There is a nice mix of genres within this set as well, with more "modern" music mixing with the more "traditional" oldies.It's very pleasant to listen to, I would highly recommend getting this box set. And you can't beat the price! :)I'm not saying every song in this collection is a winner. I am saying that there are more than nine good songs.Personally, I feel this collection is perfect for listening to the handful of songs you like, and the rest are good background music for a dinner party. Pleasant, easy on the ears, but nothing so spectacular that you're want to listen to it instead of the conversation.As far as box sets go, that's pretty darn good.The other reviewer did not like the mix, but you can preview every song on the cd, so I can't imagine how the cd's contents were a surprise to her.If you have doubts, amazon lets you preview the music before you buy it, take advantage of that great feature!

no good songs

These are not songs sung by Kishore Kumar. The singer has done a very good job, but I thought these are real movie songs by Kishore Kumar.Generally all songs are slower compared to the tempo of original songs.I am planning to return the CD - I wonder if Amazon takes music CDs back?

Whoever compiled this album has done a good job of combining songs from years past and more contemprary fare. You can't beat the selection for the price. I am happy with my purchase although not too keen on a few songs but that is the nature of "mix tapes" made for you by others :-).

Buy individual tracks piece-meal. Contains some older songs from 70's and prior that are well-known classics. However, after having enjoyed the remakes, the originals sound outdated and a little 1-dimensional. A few songs are utter @#$%. Who picks the songs for this type collage?? For the modern bollywood lover there are about 18 GREAT songs, which I might purchase a-la-carte. But at 89c each, it would be cheaper to buy the whole thing. I might have to just delete the @#$% songs.

The songs are really cover version ie not original and no where come close to the King Kishore Kumar. Overall the singer 'Ravi Kulkarni' sounds below average singer. Don't waste your money, but original and original are available in the market.

This is an excellent mix of old and new Bollywood film songs. So what if not every song is your favorite? You can't beat the price; it's way cheaper than buying a la carte, plus you get introduced to songs and films you might not otherwise encounter. I highly recommend this mix for longtime Bollywood fans as well as those wanting an introduction to this great musical genre.
