02484 CAT Excavator

Super good quality. Held up with my 3 year old son playing with it all the time. Looks realistic

We bought this for our 2yr old on his 2nd birthday. He loves Excavators, and really isn't interested in anything that isn't a realistic representation. The "cartoony" type of toy equipment just doesn't hold his interest. This one nailed it though. The tracks, the pivot points in the boom, everything. He can even put his "dude" into the drivers seat. Great toy, well worth the money. If I had any con's, it might be that it isn't rugged. Its plastic, so its obviously easier to break than the old metal tonka trucks. However, despite saying that, I've seen him being faily rough with it, and it held up well, so maybe saying it isn't rugged isn't valid anyway. Great toy, I highly recommend it.

Go ahead and spend the money, this thing works great, and has great detail. My son loves playing with it, and there is no assembly required, take it out of the box and start digging. It’s pretty large but it’s fun to operate.

Good toy. My 3 year old son loves it. The Excavator is very realistic which is huge for my boy. He likes the real life looking trucks. It also functions very well, the crane moves very well. It seems durable too, but I'm not 100% sure b/c he's only had it 2 weeks. I'd recommend this Excavator to buy!

Excellent made toyd

THE GOOD -The details are exceptional on this one. -Its target audience may be slightly older than who I bought it for, but my little 5yo wants to use this like the life-size version. He digs in the dirt! -He seems to like it much better than the true junk found in the local mega-box store. -The price is a little steep, but If it lasts a couple of years and he gets as many hours of enjoyment as he is currently getting the it was money well spent. The bad -I wish the plastic was a little thicker. -The hoe portion of this could be easier to manipulate. (or make each part of the arm independently manipulable. -The plastic tracks stretched very quickly (1 week), and there is no tensioner or adjustment to be made. So the tracks sag on the bottom. This could be redesigned with a fabric core (think timing belt on car) to prevent stretching.

So my son got two years out of the first one we bought until I ran it over with a skid steer 🤦‍♀️ Then I had to purchase another because it is built so well and it was his favorite toy. If you toddler loves track hoes and rough on their toys, this is the toy to get!

I purchased this for my grandson in October 2011. He was so excited to receive this, as he has a large collection of Bruder trucks. He had it five days and it broke. My daughter called me and said he was very upset. So I contacted Amazon for a replacement and they acted very quickly. He received his "new" Bruder within a week. But this time he was very cautious in playing with it, as he did not want a repeat. Unfortunately it happened again. My grandson does not abuse his toys and especially his Bruder trucks. He plays with them as they are designed. I had read the reviews on this particular Bruder and found that they were breaking, just as my grandson's did. But I took a chance because this is what he asked for. He found a sort of "fix" for it on You Tube and is very happy with the result. The Bruder company should be more aware of what is going on with their products. They need to go back to the drawing board and redesign this item and correct the problem. I would not hesitate to purchase other Bruder products in the future but I will always first read the reviews. Amazon handled this problem very professional and took care of the problem. And that is one of the reasons I purchase through Amazon and will continue to.

Gave it to my 3 year old grandson and he loves it. He played with it steadily the first day for over 6 hours! He calls it his "Bigger Digger" as he also has a little Tonka digger. He also decided that it will be an "Inside" toy, not for the sandbox, as he doesn't want to get it dirty. It looks really tough with high grade, very hard plastic, so hopefully it will last. Beautifully detailed with German engineering. The only minor downside is that it comes with some small plastic pieces for a handrail, mirror and some track inserts. These items seem to be mostly if you wish to treat this as an accurate model, not a hard playing toy. The track inserts don't stay and the hand rails easily pull off. I suggest not using these pieces at all.

Very good quality toy! Looks like the real thing at a smaller scale. It's mainly made of plastic, but this is high quality stuff. It's true that there are no glue or screws that are in the way and could harm children. Very well made and designed. We gave it to our little boy for his birthday and he loves it! Fun in the house, where it does not scratcha anything, and loads of fun at the parc or in any sandy area. You pay for great quality here! Even better if you get it on sale.

My son had 2 broke both within a year playing in his sand box very disappointing

Feels very solid compared to other toy excavators. All moving parts are smooth, even with lots of sand and dirt doesn't gum up the movement of the tracks or cabin. Only complaint is the bucket, it feels a bit loose. When digging in wet or compacted sand feels like you might break it off if you apply too much force. This wouldn't be an issue if the price wasn't as high though.
