Just put in it the back(lol) or where ever the antenna is and it's perfect.
Look for a station in your city that is free and not used not too static but a good station to use for your transmitter. It's cheap as hell and it creates when you find that sweet spot in your car, FLAWLESS AUDIO QUALITY.I put the transmitter into my iPod then tuck the iPod touch under the head rest that one would use if they sat in the middle seat. This spot makes the station I'm using with no music coming out noiseless, not even the static can be heard and when I play the music it is crisp quality.Even if there is some static don't even fret! With the music up you won't hear it. It is light, it is cheap, it has a cool blue light that turns off after awhile when your not using it so that it saves battery. It's a great deal.5 stars because I payed... I forget but like 1 dollar? Lol 1-3$'s or whatever it was got me flawless audio. I had a pricey Belkin that did worse. It's wireless it's simple. Just don't throw it into the cement like Justin verlander and its gonna last and work well.Had it a few months now, I'm thrilled. Find the sweet spot. I experimented for awhile. Good luck!

Best transmitter EVER
This is the best transmitter I've ever purchased. It's a little cheaply made but the sound is crystal clear and it ALWAYS works. I use it in my Porsche with the top down and the sound in awesome. I bought 3 of these for backup and also for my other vehicles. I literally have purchased every transmitter available. My favorite was the itrip that cost me $100, but even that one gets fuzzy and is so heavy it would fall out of my cigarette lighter when I hit a bump. But when I tried this transmitter, WOW! Way better than the itrip! I also have a pile of the Griffin transmitters and they all work about half the time. It's awesome now having one that works ALL the time and is so clear. It's super light weight and charges my iPod. This little transmitter also charges up so you don't have to leave it plugged in. Awesome

Worth the price, must remove phone case
Definitely worth the cheap price. I think it works great...except you have to remove your case. I have a fairly thin, low profile case but it still interfered and would occasionally cut out while I was driving. With the case off, it works great. I know some other reviews said there was some static and interference but just as with all FM transmitters, your music will only come through as clear as a radio station can come in. The idea is, you want to find a dead station with constant static. If the station cuts in and out (i.e. shh shh shhhhh shh) then your music will do the same. Find a station with steady static (if you're driving far, you will have to find new ones along the way as needed) and it will work perfectly! If the sound is only coming through on the left speakers, or just the right speakers, then your connector isn't in the phone all the way (possibly because your case is still on).

acceptable
The actual item doesn't look like the one in the picture (not a big deal for me). Reception in my factory car radio (not ipod ready) is good (no interference most of the time, and when there is, it's very little). Audio quality is similar to other FM stations. Do not expect "dolby surround", or superior audio quality, however I'm under the impression that with some equalizer tweaking audio quality may improve. My radio does not have much tweaking to do on this though, so I would have to think about getting an aftermarket radio...

Upon receiving it I ordered 2, when I opened up the package they were clearly damaged. The buttons popped out but none the less it still worked pretty decent. The price you can't really beat and the quality of sound is very exceptional with occasional weird noises coming from time to time. When you have it hooked up to ipod you can't turn it off as it automatically turns back on. I emailed the company right away and they shipped out replacements and even included a free one. Overall if your looking for a transmitter on a budget with good sound this is the way to go and if it comes broken just email them and they will give you some more

It's great because it works
I don't understand how they can do it but this little device really works. It's a lot packed into a small space. Sometimes the device will disengage from the ipod if bumped ever so slightly. That's the only flaw I have experienced to date. The key to it's success is that ability to emit the signal to the radio so you can hear your ipod music. The relationship between transmitter and radio station quality are direct. If the signal wavers and you pick up a station noise, your music will fade and become noisy; that is no fault of the little device, however. With a clear station frequency, you will get your music. I cannot report problems with this unit because I only use it on longer journeys where using the ipod makes more sense than carrying 20 cds.

Better than the expensive one
This gadget works better than the one I paid more than $40 for at Radio Shack, and that got crunched in the truck door. There's no interference, even in areas where I always had a lot of extraneous noise, and it's intuitive to use...which is a good thing, because it came with absolutely no paperwork of any sort. No instructions, no warrantee, etc. But, for the price, what did I expect? This is added after a couple of months of use. It's better than I expected. The cord came unplugged from the cigarette lighter socket in the truck...and it kept transmitting, using the battery in the iPod. This means you can use it inside, too. The cord has to be attached. It apparently functions as the antenna. Heck of a deal.

Sketchy
I purchased this item and tried it with my iPhone 4. It did not work, so I tried my iPod Touch. It kinda worked, but the power plug for the receiver broke within a few minutes of plugging it in and I contacted the seller. The seller sent me a second receiver, and so far, it seems to work. Since the product does not need to be plugged into a power source to work, I'm guessing the first one I received was faulty. The item feels flimsy and looks cheap, but so far I haven't had any problems. I used to have XM radio via a transmitter, and the sound quality of this item is the same if not slightly better.
