ScanpanClassic Nonstick 5.25-qt Covered Dutch Oven

First, there is a discrepancy in the reviews about the size of the 4-qt pan. The box says 5.25qts (now the smallest Dutch oven style Scanpan makes but out of stock on their website) but the pot itself that I ordered directly from Amazon is 4qts. I filled it with water and it's 4 qts to within an inch of the top.I have some Scanpan cookware that I have had for years. Frying pans lasted at least five years - pans we used every day. But it was time to replace the big stock pot and the 3.5-qt Dutch oven. The 3.5qt with the double handles is no longer made, so I looked for a replacement and did a lot of research on non-stick cookware. Even though I have a great stainless set, I'm not making my holiday cranberry sauce in anything but non-stick.Scanpan still gets the highest marks for durability in reviews, and now with improved coatings. Most important, it's quality cookware. I've had it with my husband coming home with pans from the junk closeout stores that last a month, especially when he uses high heat and metal utensils. I told him - no more new pans for you until you mend your ways, and he has.I will say that it's probably not quite as hefty as the pans I bought 15 years ago, but still very well made and sturdy. I tested its heat distribution: perfectly even bubbles when boiling water. No hot or cold spots anywhere. It also retains heat extremely well. Even my husband noticed that he had to turn down the heat after it was completely heated. My husband's chili was beautifully evenly cooked. And everything slides right out. I've hidden all the metal utensils and I make sure he doesn't go over medium heat. No matter what any non-stick cookware manufacturers tell you, NO metal, NO heat over medium, and hand wash. These are the keys to long lasting non-stick cookware.We originally bought our Scanpan cookware at a really true closeout store, and I didn't even know it was still sold in America. Of course, I can't attest if it will last over a decade like my original Scanpan cookware. If I have any issues, I will certainly edit my review.

Perfect size for winter cooking, and super easy to clean. Made well, of high-quality material.

We have been using ScanPan for 20 years. Durable, tough, very scratch resistant. And a lifetime warranty. We sent them a 20 year old skillet that started to show wear, and a few weeks later we have a brand new one in the mail. Great product, great service.

This is a 6.5 liter (7 quart) pot not a 6.5 quart, clearly stated on the box. Very disappointed I did not get a 6.5 quart. Returned.

After reading ratings in Consumer Reports, I gave my old set to my niece when she got her first apartment and carefully choose Scanpan classic pots and pans to make a small but complete set as they are a little pricey. Amazon's prices were as inexpensive as I found. I love them! They cook evenly and clean up so easily it's almost ridiculous.

Cooks well and is easy to clean.

" covered by full lifetime warranty" This turned out to be useless because of the hoops required to have this and my frypan replaced. At some point I just decided I really didn't want anything more to do with Scanpan. I bought the Luminarc pots from Target. Beautiful and really, truly non-toxic. They do require a bit of oil, but because they are glass, cleanup is no problem.

Love the pot. It does not stick. I use it for any kinds of cooking and it works well! The weight is perfect. Not too heavy but not to light so it will not move around when you cook. It also heats evenly.

It’s a good pot I have a few scan pan non stick pots and pans. And there all excellent. Easy clean and great to use.

This was slightly bigger than expected as I've no idea of litre sizes - but very happy with it. An entire meal fits in this - potatoes and veg in the bottom, whole chicken on top - cooked slowly in the oven- lovely. 6th pan bought from this range and happy with them all - nothing sticks and they all clean beautifully.

this will last you for many years! I love scanpan, i can only afford them every so often - but a real treat when one of my debenhaums or john lewis pans wears out. I replace them with multi-funcitonal scanpan
