Great Light Weight Sewing Machine
I had visited my sister on Cape Cod and saw her use her Janome sewing machine. Seeing that my Singer sewing machine was very old (bought 1970) and VERY heavy (all metal) and I was constantly fighting with it to make it work, I asked her how she liked her Janome machine. She said it was the best machine she ever bought, actually received it for a gift from her husband. She showed me how smooth it worked and worked well it did! As soon as I came home I went over to JoAnn Fabrics thinking I could check them out but was told that my JoAnn's did not stock them. I wanted to test drive it first before buying it. I looked on line and found that Amazon sold the Janome Sewing Machine and I found the price to be very low priced. I took a chance and bought a $500.00 machine for $300.00. It was on sale! I received it within 3 days! (just before Christmas!) ( I decided it was my Christmas present to myself) I immediately took it out of the box and set it up as I had never had a computerized machine. I read the instructions which were very good and decided to sew bags to put my gifts in. (The machine is easy to operate. I tried many of the stitches and hope to continue to learn the rest.) The bags were a hit and I asked everyone who received a bag that if they did not want the bag I would keep it for next year! The machine of course is very light weight because it is made of plastic. But what a joy to carry it to my table. I just love it! I would highly recommend this machine!

Really very nice!
i purchased the DC1050 several months ago and said I would come back and review it. Well, I am very happy with this purchase. I love this machine. I can't believe I struggled so long with my old one! This machine sews like butter. It is quiet and effortless. There are a lot of nice stitches and features. The "needle-down" feature, and the "start-stop" button are really nice. Now I can teach my granddaughter to sew before she can reach the peddle. I like the speed control. I can't wait to try applique. I have a disability and can't work so I enjoy sewing a lot. This machine is awesome and worth the money and I do recommend it. Sewing is fun again!!!!

Great machine!!
I couldn't be more happy with my new machine! The features on it are just was I was looking for. Set up was easy with the instruction manual and the machine is very user-friendly. The I received everything in its original packaging and within the estimated delivery time. The standard accessories kit includes bobbins, a needle set, zipper foot, satin stitch foot, and buttonhole foot, and more. It is worth it to spend a little extra for a machine you know will last you a life time versus buying something cheap at Walmart that will probably break on you in 6 months. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone whether you just starting out (like me) or you've have lots of experience.

Great sewing machine
I have been sewing 30 plus years. Clothing at first and then quilts. I have had all manual machines. Brands have been Singer, Kenmore, Brother, Bernina and now Janome. This is my very first computerized machine. I am so pleased with this purchase. No guessing as far as stitch length or tension. The machine automatically does it for you! No pressure foot sewing (part of what sold me!). Needle in position (part of what sold me!) 50 stiches to choose from. Accessories are sparse but good quality. Light is LED and bright enough without being blinding. Fast shipping from seller. Received it in four days! Already ordered a quilting table extension. More bobbins in my Amazon cart! Happy customer.

So far so good!
My previous machine was Brother XL-3750.I find this much sturdier, however one thing I was concerned with is that the snap-on adapter part of the feet is made of what I think is plastic and does not have a release button. So I feel a little scared every time I change the foot, worried that I will break either parts. I recently ordered a non-Janome snap-on-adapter that is made of metal and has a release mechanism, and hopefully that will make this machine perfect for me.It is much quieter than the one i had, and much heavier, which means the whole machine isn't going to jump around when I sew heavier fabrics. So far, loving it very much!

Blew on first use, customer service completely uninterested
It's not everyday you find a firework pretending to be a sewing machine, but Janome has achieved a true technical feat in this device.Encouraged by positive reviews and Janome's claims that the model is dual voltage, I purchased this sewing machine as a gift and carried it halfway around the world, eagerly anticipating the recipient's delight. In a twist worthy of M Night Shyamalan, the machine blew out on first use, leaving me one gift and several hundred dollars short.Janome's technological competence was matched by their service: they told me the machine couldn't be repaired due to lack of spare parts, and to lift my mood performed a Three Stooges skit wherein the local dealer said to contact the local office, the local office said to contact the US office, and the US office said to contact the local office.Eager to join this responsibility-shirking orgy, our leading online retailer Amazon reluctantly offered a refund of a small part of the purchase price when pressed. In the end I shelled out a lot of money for an expensive paperweight, disinterested customer service, and the lesson never to buy expensive items on Amazon, or anything from Janome. Thanks guys.

I'm in love with my sewing machine!
I've been sewing all my life. This is a wonderful machine. I have never had an electronic sewing machine before but this beats all the mechanical ones I've had. I love all the features and especially the needle up or down position and being able to sew with or without the pedal. It sews through multiple thicknesses with ease and doesn't skip stitches. I can't say enough good about it. It is a pleasure to use. It's definitely a good deal for the money.
