toaster 2 and 4 slice (2 Slice toaster, KST022GU-Black)

We've had far too many toasters in the last 10 yrs - expensive & inexpensive ones; two that are totally electronic push button that we thought were great until they pretty much quit toasting even on the highest setting. Finally found an inexpensive toaster that toasts like it says. No, it's NOT electronic. You have to manually depress the levers to lower the bread/muffins & manually set the brownness. No, it also doesn't beep nor electronically raise the bread. BUT - - it WORKS. I set my husband's bagel on ''3' and my English muffin on '4' and they come out perfect for each of us. Can't get any better than that! Yay!!

Apparently this toaster went through a redesign shortly after I bought it. I can't recall owning one that toasted so evenly before. Pics are of white bread with the dial set at the 3.25 position after using it about 24+ times. I like using the Bagel setting (ONLY ONE side toasted) on English Muffins & Hamburger Buns.Better than my decade old toaster in every way except one. The lift function (ejecting) doesn't lock into place, so you usually need two free hands for extraction. Plus I kind of miss the 45° slant of my old T-Fal, because it was much easier to use under my kitchen cabinets.Amazon delivered it's small box in a much bigger box without any padding whatsoever! Thankfully it arrived in great condition due to the manufacturer's solidly secure packaging.

Was hesitant to buy a brand I wasn't familiar with. But my last two toasters were known brands: Cuisinart and Black & Decker. All things considered, neither wowed me.This is metal. Brushed metal on the sides and the shiniest of shiny polished metal on the back, front and top. The finish does resist fingerprints. Very attractive sitting on counter. You can see that the old Cuisinart 4-slot toaster that this is replacing looks smaller than the Mega Casa, as some other reviewers noted. They are nearly the same width, but the Mega Casa is slightly deeper and taller.Arrived in good condition from Amazon. The toaster box was packed inside an Amazon box without any additional packing. The Mega Casa box was well packaged around the toaster and kept it safe. Found one tiny ding (see 1st 2 photos) located on the lower right side toward the back. It is totally out of the way and unnoticeable. I won't send it back for such a minor flaw.Did some practice toasting on setting 1 through 4. When I saw how dark 4 turned out, I didn't want to waste any more bread. If you like it darker, you can use setting 5 or 6. I took 2 photos that show each side of the toast - one side came out slightly darker than the other. No big deal and you probably can't tell the difference in the photos. Slots are sufficiently wide to hold Texas toast or thicker artisan breads. Thinner breads will be held in place as well.One other thing. When the toast pops up, it really pops. When the "cancel" button is used, the toast pops up with the same force.If you accidentally press the "bagel" or "defrost" button, you can't toggle it off. You need to cancel and start over.This is only Day 1. We use a toaster practically daily. If there's anything to report that would change this review, I'll post an update. That said, I would not hesitate to venture off-brand again. Very pleased so far.

I do not know how this toaster got 5 stars from so many people. Maybe I got a bad one but this is my experience with it. First, it is very light and cheaply made. Shake it and you will hear parts rattling around inside. Use it and the entire case will get so hot you will burn yourself if you touch it anywhere on the outside.Your first toast in slots 1 and 2 (counting from the left) will come out just fine if the toaster is cold when you start. Add one slice to slot three and it will come out burnt almost black, even when both toast settings are at the same low number. Start with a hot toaster and all the toast will be burnt black, no matter what slot it's in or how low you set the toasting level.I sent it back for a refund.

Our last toaster said it was supposed to fit bagels but no matter what, we would either have to smoosh our bagels in order for them to fit down the toaster or worry about them not popping up and cutting them up just trying to remove them. With this toaster, that has not been the case. Not only does it fit our bagels but even if they are not perfectly smooth, they still pop out with no problems. What I love is that this is really easy to use, whether you are using fresh or even frozen. When I'm needing to defrost any breads or even waffles, I just press the defrost button, set it to the number that I want and done. Since getting and using this toaster, since it was delivered, no matter what we have toasted this toaster has made everything come out perfect. We even tried the toaster bags that make grilled cheese sandwiches and we didn't have to worry about the bags getting stuck or catching on fire. Overall, great toaster that will either lightly toast or gives us really toasted foods.

I ordered this toaster because I only have a toaster oven, which is not ideal for traditional toast. This toaster did the job perfectly! The toast was perfectly browned on both sides. There are many darkness and lightness settings. I like the #2 position as it lightly and evenly browns my toast while maintaining a soft interior. The slots are wide for bagels. It is lightweight yet feels sturdy. Ima be eating a lot of toast now.

I have always preferred metal toasters to cheaper plastic ones. They are heavier, sturdier and do not slide over the countertop as easily. There is no fear of the casing charring if toaster overheats. For this reason I am willing to pay a bit more for stainless steel ones. This arrives in pristine condition, shiny matt body. The slots are 1.5 inches, and easily takes thicker slices of bread or bagels. The temperature control works via a rotary knob, and feels more upscale than a slider control. There are buttons for bagels, defrost, and cancel functions. All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase.
