So we had this mockingbird…
I bought this after a mockingbird took up residence outside my bedroom window. Two weeks of interrupted sleep was solved in one day. This decoy has a motion sensor and scared the bird away. Fingers crossed it doesn’t return. Best money I’ve spent this year!

Solid
Works as described. My chickens were scared of it for about a week. Now the roosters knock it over and hump it.

So far so good
My take one week in....Bought 2 of these 1 didn't keep the birds off my 20' x 30' pool deck, 2 seems to get the job done. They do get triggered pretty often, haven't seen them actually set off by any birds, but people will set them in motion within about a 25' - 360 degree radius!Once ya get use to them hooting all the time (they set each other off if placed closer than 25') they get lost in the background of the real birds.Of course you have to shut them off when actually using the pool, or they drive ya nuts. The solar panels have done an adequate recharging job so far...

Save your money
This product is a joke. Oh, it moves its head and flashes lights okay. But the pigeons that I bought this for, to scare them away didnt work. They just snuggled right up next to it like they were best friends. FYI my neighbor bought the little silver spinners and put those on his roof, the pigeons loves those too. The birds just sit right right next to them. Wasted money on the stupid sonic emitters, they are also useless. Don’t know of anything that will keep the damn pigeons away.

Birds aren't fazed. Rabbits and ducks not bothered either.
Got this to keep birds and ducks from gathering and pooping on our patio. We have a bird bath out in our garden, and there is a river that runs behind our house. There are birds and ducks galore. We love this wildlife and encourage the birds (with the birdbath) to visit.Unfortunately though, they've taken that invitation to also include the large, covered patio area that runs the entire length of our house. This is not so much of an issue for half the year while we're home, but we spend the other half away. When we come back, we find the patio floor littered with bird and duck poop. This is the 3rd owl we've tried. The first 2 had "fins" on the back of their heads and were supposed to spin their heads when the wind blew. Neither of those worked with a breeze - - - they needed WIND!We decided to try this solar powered one.Pros:- The solar panel does work. We have it positioned on the outer portion of our covered patio where it does receive direct sun for about 4 hrs a day.- The head does spin whenever it detects motion. At night, the eyes light up as well. We have turned off the audio sound just because it's annoying, but that too does work.- I typically don't like the aesthetics of things like this. I'm not a garden gnome type of person. I like natural and organic decor and was worried this would look tacky sitting out on our patio. Though it's not bad looking, looks as real as a plastic owl can, it's still nothing that I'd consider "decor". The fact that it's naturally painted/colored does make it not too obvious though, and I have it positioned on the garden side of a post so it's not visible from inside the house.Cons:- Birds are not fazed by it at all. We were careful to place this on the opposite end of the patio from where the bird bath is in the garden because though we want to deter patio visits, we didn't want to scare the birds from their water feature. There is no issue with that at all and in fact, the birds walk right by the owl, trigger his head movement and are not bothered at all.- Ducks come up from the river behind our yard and make themselves at home on our patio too. They aren't fazed at all by this owl. We even loaned it to a friend who has a problem with ducks getting into their pool. In his situation, those ducks aren't bothered at all either.- We have rabbits that also frequent our yard. Though they are not a problem we were targeting with this owl, if rabbits are a nuisance in your situation, just thought I'd mention that they also just hop right by the owl without even blinking an eye.- The head swivels when movement triggers it. I don't know why, but it doesn't always return to face front again. Sometimes over time, I will find that the head is completely turned around (Linda Blair style) when at rest. It's easy enough to just twist it back to face front, but just want to mention that.

Works as advertised, see s durable
Works as advertised. Survived being buried in snow over winter and still works well after a year outdoors. If you have many rainy days in a row and if it gets activated frequently, you might have to bring it inside to charge it, but I just figured if it moved sometimes but not others that made the situation more realistic and not less...

The motion sensor is VERY sensitive
I bought this to place outside my window to scare off a woodpecker that is creating a hole in my stucco. I played a joke on my wife and left it in the bedroom with the lights off. It scared her to death upon turning on the lights. Another time I did the same thing but with the unit armed. The joke was on me because it reacted to every change of light through the window. This tells me that it will constantly be in motion and making noise outside the window until the battery discharges making it useless until it recharges from the sun. I kept it anyway because it's cute. I named it Ollie.
