Q: Is there still a 1 year warranty on this?

i really can't remember but i can remember that there were 2 (1 with 6 mnths and the other with a 1 year). not sure which is which. u can always contact the seller.

Q: Our PS3 blu-ray drive accepts the discs, but nothing happens. There is no sound of disc spinning, no lights, no reading. Will this drive fix this issue?

If you youtube "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3GZNlp6Gfs" or any other video you can try to open the Ps3 to see if the disc is spinning or not inside. The spinner is part of the lens deck (the round object on one end of the deck). I'm not sure why you have no lights, however. If the Ps3 turns on just fine, but simply does not find any disc when you enter one, it should be the lens deck.My ps3 just wouldn't read discs, i could still browse the internet and play downloaded games. But when i loaded a disc, it would try to read but wouldn't find anything (and make a click sound).Hope this helps.

Q: Is this the right model for a PS3 Slim CECH-2001B?

Their compatibility sheet shows that CECH-20** series PS3 Slims will work with this drive.

Q: is this the same as kem-450 baa

Not sure if they are the same; however I just installed this in my PS3 which had the KEM-450BAA, and it worked just fine. Fixed the issue with it not reading my games.
