i am old,and yes some technology even fools me.I purchased this book in desperation,as i really did not want to pester my son again with my mobile phone.He is unaware that i did this, but it has helped me set up a new phone with very little input from anyone else except this book.I even managed to grasp some of the language used to explain its workings,so do yourself a favour buy this book and stop relying on your children,they may even be impressed.

Didn't get back to basics.

Couldn't understand a word of it. It is written for Americans in American IT language. Maybe 'dummies' come in grades!

Very easy to understand. (As in normal with Dummies books.) Would recommend it.

I was a novice re Android phones having just purchased one to replace a simpler12 yr old mobile and found myself totally confused by the set up procedures and lack of explanation . Being flooded with suggested Apps for this and that,let alone strange symbols , worrying in case I had pressed inadvertantly on un-needed items and receiving messages re security . The non existance of info in the form of written instructions on how to start using this device after opening the box came as a blow especially at the cost paid, leaving me to fumble around trying to recall how I had reached certain areas of interest.Well it was obvious that after 3 / 4wks of frustration I required a tutor and after some searching decided to purchase this book for the older user and I am pleased I did as it has helped considerably, albeit, I have not entirely mastered all the ins /outs of this phone, am so far thankfull I can consult this well written book as it has been money well spent.
