Very pleased
I have older YI cameras and this is the best one yet. The quality and clarity are great. The controls are easy to use and the image is very clear, even when zooming in

Amazing cam!
This camera like all the other Yi cameras is an ease to set up right out of the box. You can connect it to your cloud service if you subscribe or you can add an SD card to the SD card slot and depending on the size of the SD card you won’t miss a moment of capture video depending on your settings. I had no idea that it was packed full of features like auto scan where it slowly spins and scans the room horizontally and vertically. It also has motion tracking where once it detects motion it will track a person through the room. The night vision is like looking At the video in daytime And you can see everything very clearly and even make out small objects. I own several Yi cameras which I picked up all of them at a great price but at the price point for this camera it’s absolutely outstanding with all the features that it comes with. It has facial detection and recognition so when you do get a notification you’ll know right away when you look at it if it’s someone who should be there or not. I think this camera would be great for any home or office. It also has a mountable base where you can hang it from the ceiling and flip the image 180° it pans, tilts, zooms and the nighttime IR lighting is amazing! I’m actually thinking about replacing my older indoor cams and upgrading them all to this particular one. Again for the price I was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend checking this camera and as I said before I’ll probably end up replacing all of my cameras for this one. Amazing cam, great price!

Reset Pin is in a BAD spot
The overall product is good, but there is no mount that would keep it vertical so it stays on a dresser far from our daughter's crib but high enough where she can't reach it. Sadly if we were to use the mount it came with it the picture would look odd because the mount goes flush with the wall. We have 2 other Yi cam domes a 720p and 1080p (realistic quality is 720p) but those were slowly discontinued due to the Kami merger. Kami doesn't have a viable product that we need and since we are already using the Yi app I figured to find a 3rd Yi Camera and only the 2K one was available of course from a 3rd party vendor. Night vision and daylight video quality is pretty crisp. Night vision quality with our daughter in her crib we can zoom in and see her clear enough to check if she is still asleep and the outline of her body is also visible. The main reason I gave it 1 star is because the Pin to reset the device (have to reset it any time we travel because you can't easily connect to another wifi network without having to reset Yi Cam) is between the camera lens and the bottom portion when it covers itself for privacy which is also the spot you can find the MicroSD slot. Given the pins location when trying to reset it the pin literally fell back into the device so there is now literally no way to reset it. Luckily it maintained the wifi information at home so after traveling we set it up and since then it stays put. We were going to use it to see our daughter as she slept while we were visiting family, but now need to find an alternative camera system to do so.

Good camera - initial setup can be a bit tricky, however.
So far, the camera is working well and is a nice upgrade to the previous 1080p PTZ models. The resolution upgrade from 1080p to 1440p is noticeable and covers a wider view while providing a clearer image (going from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440).The audio also seems to have improved as there is less distortion when compared to the audio of the 1080p PTZ models.Connectivity is limited to the 2.4Ghz band, as is the case with most cameras at this price point, but is still more than enough for a 2K stream. The only downside I've run into so far, and this is kind of a big one (initially, at least), is that of the setup/QR code scanning. I returned the one I initially purchased as I could not get the camera to scan the QR code regardless of what I tried. If you run into the same issue where the camera will not scan the QR code and is stuck in the "Waiting to connect" mode, simply perform the following steps:1. Rotate your phone horizontally/90 degrees, then face it up toward your ceiling (as you can see in the image I've uploaded.2. With your phone still facing up toward your ceiling, face the camera down toward the floor, aimed at the horizontal QR code (as you can see in the image I've uploaded). This worked for me on the second try, as I received an audio prompt telling me that the QR code was invalid. If you hear, "Invalid QR code," simply rotate your phone in the other direction (horizontal as well), and scan it again.I was ready to return this camera for the last time, but I'm glad I was able to get it to connect, as it is working well so far. Time will tell if this lasts as long as the 1080p PTZ models, but so far it's a nice upgrade. It loses one star for the extra effort required for setup, but I would still recommend it, especially for $39.I hope this helped you in some way.***Previous 1-star review***First, let me preface this review by stating that I'm a technology professional, having deployed much more complex camera systems with ease. That said, I have several Yi cams in my network, alongside EZVIZ, Dahua and Unifi cameras. I like the Yi cams because they don't time out when viewing live streams (great for use as baby monitors), which others like Hikvision's EZVIZ do not do unless you stream locally via RTSP.When I saw this Yi 2K camera I thought it would be a nice upgrade to my Yi 1080 dome/PTZ camera which I've had for a few years. The camera arrived, plugged it in and could not get past the "Waiting to connect" prompt from the camera. It will not scan the QR code regardless of what I try; different angles, different distances, different lighting, different phones (iOS as well as Android) nothing worked.I figured maybe updating the firmware offline via microSD card would work - nope! Their website doesn't even list the camera under their available cameras in their firmware section. What an absolute waste of time this was. I would not recommend this model from Yi, considering the fact that something as simple as pairing/setting up the camera could be as screwed up as this. I will attempt one more time in case I received a dud.

Good cameras
I'm not sure why there are so many poor reviews for these cameras. I've been using this company's dome cameras for a while now and have had no problems, even though I use them outdoors, even in Canadian winters. I have them mounted under the roof overhang and they work great. These 4k cameras add a better quality image. Set up was easy and quick. The only negative is that, unlike the earlier cameras, you cannot control them from the desktop app, so I just do it on my phone. Oh, and one more small gripe - the cloud plan only goes up to 5 cameras. I now have 7 or 8 and wish I could have them all in one account.

Motion recording is garbage
The camera has a good video and the app from the phone works pretty good, but the recording service is what you need to work properly and it is absolutely garbage. These cameras will stop recording while they are tracking somebody moving and you will think they're recording because they are streaming to you and you can see it turned back and forth following somebody but most of the time it's still not recording even though the motion is tracking somebody moving, their own customer service over the course of the last year have explained to me many different answers that all conflict with each other including they were not meant to record too much motion, but for $400 they can reprogram the cameras to record properly, I still have this email where they told me that they have a solution and are aware that there is a problem but they want more money than the cameras are worth to fix them

Terrible Post Sales Service and Bad Quality
The media could not be loaded. Bad quality- Bought it September 2021, can’t reset the camera (cannot connect to new wifi) on May 2022. There is not even 1 year warranty.Terrible post sales services- I contacted the seller Yi Home (manufacturer direct selling store) ask for repair or replacement. At the beginning, they said they don’t have storage for the same product for replacement. Only returned 1/3 of the price back to me. Then I contact Amazon 3-4 times, every person give me different answers. And have no employee number and name to record what they said. I bought this product about $70, spend so much time try to solve the problem. They end up give me$10 refund.I have to save it is absolutely a terrible service . I personal like this brand, but I won’t recommend to my friends or buy it again. Business should not running like that.
