Really interesting perspectives.
Really interesting perspectives. I have learned so much and keep thinking in my head "finally" when the authors share their ideas. I consistently eat under my caloric needs and see no changes so this helped me get some ideas on why this might be happening. I have begun weight training and upped my walking since starting this book. I also included healthy carbs back into my diet and have switched a couple meals to protein shakes. There are some things I still do not understand in the book and I am injured so can not fully implement the plan. Great blog posts and youtube videos and newsletter to support. There is a learning curve.

Finally a book that ties it all together!
I have long believed through teachings of other anti eat less exercise more health gurus that that particular protocol messes with your metabolism, that it is important to listen to your own biodynamic responses, and that there is NO one size fits all fat loss approach. I found the Teta brother's Lose Fat Here after a Google search for my own body nemesis - female belly fat. This book is gold! I devoured it in two days and look forward to working with my body to find what actually works for ME. The detective work requires committment, but this is for long term life, health and happiness. Another reviewer said all the information is found on their website, but you have to troll through blog posts and piece it all together for yourself. In this book, all the information you need and in the order that you need it in, is concisely contained, which I'm very much grateful for. If the science behind why things work isn't your thing, don't get bogged down by it. Skim read it, let it go, practice the practical teachings, and remember - do what honestly works for your body. BTW - if you're female and struggled with a pot belly all your life, they recommend you stay on ELEL. There's specific information for targeted areas near the end of the book.

a strategy that might work?
Interesting book...puts in perspective work outs - vs just moving. Also puts fat into a different perspective. I am anxious to try this method...as a cross fitter and runner I may spend too much time in emem......but I don't think I can get faster till I weigh less..... So I will give it a try! ......maybe this is why I loose weight on vacation? Eating the same...but relaxing more?..

JUST BUY IT...NUFF SAID!
I was one of the participants in the study group for this book last summer and all I can say is that this book changed my life. I lived and died by calorie/macro counting, eating 6 meals religiously and working out hard 6 days a week. When the opportunity came up to work with Dr. Jade Teta and this protocol, I jumped at the chance. I was desperate and wanted answers. While I was nervous about cutting back on my exercise and my food at first, it turns out that is exactly what my body needed. My metabolism was a mess and it needed a reboot. This protocol gave it exactly that and more. It's been so freeing not counting anymore, eating only when my body tells me I'm hungry and working out a heck of a lot less. If you apply the principles in this book, you will see a difference. They are principles I still use to this day and I've never felt better. I am forever grateful!!

An individualized approach...what works for YOU
Every body is different and I like that this program respects that and teaches you to listen to your body and learn what works to satisfy your hunger, optimize your energy levels, and eliminate cravings,As a longtime fan of Metabolic Effect, I expected great things from this new book. I wasn't disappointed. What I really wanted to know though, was what would someone else, unfamiliar with ME would have to say about it. So I asked my daughter to read it. Some of the comments she has made are...I love the fact that it isn't a once-size-fits-all approach but what works for each individual.I am ready to get lean and lose this "fluff" overlay. I know I am strong and muscular and I want to SEE it.I like the fact that the testimonials show "normal" sized people who just look "leaner" and not only extreme weight loss examples.I have seen the changes in you, and I know these principles work when applied.

I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book. There is science to back up their data. Too often the "health" world wants a person to exercise three hours a day and eat minimally and it does not ever account for your cravings or your trigger foods. This book puts the detective work in your hands. It allows you to figure out your body and what works for you. This is not a one sized fit all model- it is a work in progress. This empowers you!! Thank you Jade and Keoni! :)June 3- an update- I have cylced through the ELEL and EMEM once- I am down nine pounds. I love walking everyday and not stressing about getting in a workout at the gym. The workouts are great and I feel like I have put in a really good workout. This is not only doable but is a life skill. Thank you.

Last "Diet" Book You'll Ever Need
It's kind of a tough read because there is SO much info that you don't see in other "diet" books. But, this is a lifestyle book, how to be your own detective to determine how to lose weight, lose fat, gain muscle, because everyone is different and every one goes through different phases in their life. It's a matter of being aware of how food affects you, how movement (exercise) affects you, and how to compensate if you do do too little or too much of one or the other or both. I think this will be my LAST book I purchase to figure out how to be my optimal physical and mental self. I will probably have to reread over the years, but I truly believe this is IT!

WISH I HAD KNOW THIS INFORMATION SOONER!
The Teta brothers are so on target. I've been following their plan of eliminiating sugar and dry carbs from my diet over 2 months, wasn't hungry, eat better than ever with fresh fruits, vegetables and protein and have lost a little over 29 pounds. My husband has also lost about 28 pounds. We haven't had to spend hours at the gym to achieve this either. I have sent this out on my facebook page telling everyone about it. I'm looking forward to having my blood tests in 1 week and we're hoping that my husband may be able to go off his Cholesterol meds!

How to starve yourself and low carb.
The beginning of the book is a little boring but it did explain about hormones so I thought it might have something. Sadly after reading on I realised what rubbish this was. Protein shake for breakfast, protein shake for lunch and protein, non starchy veg, and half a cup of rice for dinner. Not for me. He then wants you to walkabout 1 - 2 hours a day Weight training 3 times a week and this is the non exercise part of the diet. Now I don’t doubt you will lose weight but you might lose the will to live on this. Also none of the links in the kindle version link to anything plus the web page doesn’t exist when manually put in.
