Perfect for the beach - IF YOU SET IT UP RIGHT!
We have used this at the beach three times. The first time was a disaster. It kept blowing over and there was no stability. We took it down and tried again. On the second try that day we had it perfect. You have to make sure to completely fill the sand holes. This material stretches a lot. So as you add sand you have to lift it and stretch it and keep adding sand till you cannot any longer, then place the bag in the hole you made from digging sand and cover it up with sand. When you move to the next end you have to pull the material until you can't anymore...it must be tight.. then add sand. All four corners must be done like this. Then, grab your poles and place the ball on top, the point in the sand and secure with the elastic. It really is simple. The second and third beach days were amazing! People commented on how huge our shade area was. Set it up right, and you will be so happy!

Perfect beach tent
This beach tent is perfect. Easy to set up, easy and lightweight to carry in a bag. I have a pop up tent, sunbrella, have used a similar tent as this with only two poles, but this has been the best tent we have. Easily fits 4 lounge chairs+ gear. Sturdy in high wind and excellent sun protection in UV index 11 conditions. I anticipate this being useful on the lawn as well. GREAT buy.

Great for the beach, unless it’s a windy day
Very lightweight and easy to set up. It worked great on the beach, except on days where winds were 20mph there was absolutely no way it was going to stay up despite trying to angle it into the wind etc. Great sun protection. Just make sure you fill the bags ALL the way up with sand and pull them outward to stretch the fabric to minimize “flapping” around… it’ll still move around some but it’s not terrible. Found some yellowish stains on mine after using it a week at the beach which is odd because it never got wet. Overall great value.

Great Sun Shade
We purchased this to use in the Outer Banks for a week long vacation. If you set up up properly (which isn’t hard to do), there is no way this should fall down. We had constant winds in the 10-20mph range and it held up perfectly. The set up is simple and when done, the shade folds up easily in the storage bag. One person can set this up in about 10 minutes or less. If you see reviews that say the shade fell over, I would disregard those as user error. We had four chairs and they easily fit under the shade. I highly recommend this shade, especially for the price.

PERFECT
Our pop up canopy blew over on our beach location last year and broke. I hated lugging it around. It was large and heavy. So when we were in the market for a new canopy this year, I wanted something more compact and light weight. This was perfect. So perfect I ordered another before we left. We had 2 of these for the 13 people on our vacation and there was plenty of room to spare underneath. It was easy to assemble. Listen to the other reviews about setting up and stretching the canopy, securing it with the bands and filling the bags to the brim with sand. We vacation on an island so there are always high winds and this never once even made me nervous about falling over. Order it.

LITERALLY THE WORST THING I'VE EVER PURCHASED!
I was so excited to purchase this product because we live in Florida and it can get extremely hot and without shade and two little ones it makes going to the beach nearly impossible. I bought this thinking that it would be a lightweight alternative to the traditional tents and umbrellas that are typically heavy. However setting this tent up was a complete disaster. The wind was not even that strong and the tent would not stand it kept flopping over. The poles were not steady enough to withstand or resist the wind. The fabric started tearing after only the second attempt to put this together. It has taken nearly 2 hours of my family roasting in the Florida sun to even MacGyver this thing into something semi-useful. I have a 3 years old and 3 month old and this completely ruined my mothers days weekend. I had to pack up my family and leave bc of how troublesome it was just trying to maintain shade.

Wind complicates things
The media could not be loaded. I am currently on vacation in South Carolina with this sun shade tent. I took it from the box on the beach yesterday and put it up for the first time. I hesitated to leave a review just yet because I felt, perhaps, I was using it incorrectly. Reading other reviews really helped. The tricks and other suggestions made a big difference, but I’m still not as impressed with this thing as I thought I would be.We had three people to assemble the sun shade tent; a 50, 19, and 14 year old, and it took us all. We have put it up three times now. The first day, I was furious. It was so complicated to get it stretched out in the heavy winds, then once it was up and the poles positioned per the instructions, the wind continued to drag the sand bags and the tent would collapse. I fought this thing for 30 minutes. We figured out that if you move the poles to the very front edge, then the tent doesn’t flop down in the front, catch air, then take the whole thing down. The video I posted shows us still in the process of figuring all of this out. You can see the heavy wind, but that is not uncommon on the beach. I then read where someone commented to fill the bags ALL the way until they couldn’t hold anymore (and they hold a lot) and bury them in the hole you dug getting sand to fill the bags. This did make a difference, but the tent was still being blown so hard that the poles would not stay in place, even buried several inches up the pole. In fact, one of the poles broke today from the wind whipping it back and forth so much. In the end, I used the two pole configuration since one of them broke anyway. A couple times, I placed the third pole in the middle of the front (as seen in the video). This actually worked pretty good. Also make sure you stretch this thing out all the way. I placed all four sandbag legs (filled and buried) then put poles on one side and let the wind beat the holy hell out of the other end, It was like a cape in the wind, only anchored at all corners. So it did finally stay up and did provide shade, but by that time the tide was up to where I set up and we had to move it. I was so over this thing. So tomorrow, I will stretch it out, fill all four sandbag legs, bury them, and put poles on one end again. A few other people had the same sun shade tents and had varying remedies for the wind. Some added pieces of pipe for extra poles, some did the poles on one end like I did but placed three across the front to keep the front lifted up and not allow the wind to fold it under and drag it down (like I did in the video I posted). And 1 person had given up and was using theirs as an on-the-ground cover for their beach chairs and other gear they brought. So I don’t really like it. You can fight with it and make it work in the wind. While on the beach today, I saw at least 2 better options for probably less money than I paid for this thing. Again, it will work, and it is easy to erect, but throw in some wind, and you have a whole different animal (and you will fight this animal too). It would be perfect with little to no wind.
