Omamori Himari, Vol. 1 (Omamori Himari, 1)

When You Come For a Harem...
The standard trope of an ordinary teenager is how we begin this volume, though ordinary is a title that Yuto does not deserve. His parents are dead, he lives alone, his childhood friend and (obviously) love interest cooks and cleans for him, and he's allergic to cats. So how is he ordinary? To further distance Yuto from that place of normality, a cat-demon-samurai named Himari shows up and reveals that his family is actually a line of demon slayers and that she has sworn to defend him from harm. This is obviously one of those cases that the lackluster and dorky Yuto is going to turn out to have some dumb hidden power that trumps any demon, and that he'll need to use that power to save Himari who is obliviously going to take over as the love interest and romantic pick. It's a shame, but I've read enough manga to see this coming miles away. The only positive is that other demons, or ayakashi as they call them, show up and form a sort-of harem with Yuto. Downside to that though, we get the standard rivalry and mellow drama where the main girls want attention but Yuto can't provide that kind of attention. (This man has no dick)Series is good for a laugh with all the standard, run-of-the-mill tropes, but don't expect to be blown away or enthralled by the story. Standard ecchi allure is why I came, the harem potential is why I stayed, but the "meh" story is why I'm giving this an 'OK'.

A great ecchi fantasy series
As many other reviewers have mentioned before the sexy demon protecting demon slayer trope is an oft repeated one, but I find that the characters are likeable enough where the overused trope is not a hindrance to enjoy the story and artwork. The ecchi scenes provide some great eye candy without taking you completely out of the story, which is a must for me.Highly recommended starting this series if you haven't already.

GREAT MANGA!
I loved this Manga. I first heard of it when I accidentally came across the Anime for the series. I don't usually read comics; however, after reading this Manga, I feel that I really like comics. I love that this series Genre is Ecchi and Harem. I've always liked those put together in Anime titles like Toradora (とらドラ) and Zero No Tsukaima (ゼロに使い魔). I would definitely recommend this Manga to anyone who likes the above Mangas.

Incredible Series
I just finished reading the last volume in the series and this was an incredible story. It's far from just boobs and fan service (although there's plenty of both). This series will take you on an emotional roller coaster, from humorous fumbles to heart wrenching anxiety to undeveloped blossoms of love. It is probably my favorite harem I have read and it will definitely not disappoint.

the book is really good and a simple read but it is recommended for viewers at the age of sixteen or above because of some of the sexual themes

Fairly decent
This seems like a pretty typical storyline. Regular dude with hidden power (that happens to come from his ancestry, in this case). Girls falling all over him, one of whom is his protector, another of whom is his childhood friend, and by the end of the book, there's a third. The writing carries the story competently. I noted no embarrassing problems with the translation.None of the characters particularly stand out to me as exceptional, but they don't suck, either. The art is good. The ecchi is appealing; does what it's there to do.Overall, nothing to scream about, not yet anyway... but it's something I might continue with if I am bored, and no other titles take its place.

entertaining
what can i say really?i found this an enjoyable enough read, with a good mix of humour, fanservice and action that made me want to continue reading.its a well drawn series i found and i couldn't see any major translation errors.so in all if you want a short fun fanservicy manga with healthy portions of action this is a good place to start.(one other thing is that despite the large 'Parental Advisery' sticker it is not that bad, while there is some nudity no detail is shown and the nearest to sex it gets is references, should probably be a 16+)

Good, fun manga.
Brought this manga because it had good reviews and looked like something I'd like to read and I wasn't disappointed. Funny, light hearted manga with nice drawings and a good storyline. If you like romance/comedy/fantasy you'll like this.

Good
Good story, good drawings, interesting character. I I've tried to get into this story for the 3rd time and I just can't seem to do it. I guess I'm looking for something a little darker.

Muy buen Manga.
Siendo mi serie favorita, Omamori Himari es una obra maestra en cuanto a su genero se refiere. Milan Matra a sabido juntar comedia, ecchi y acción en una gran serie, que es una pena que aun no traduzcan al español.
