Good router, even better customer service
Very good router for the price and 3 year warranty! Worked great for 18 months but had a few technical issues which were resolved swiftly by customer support who sent a replacement upgraded version as was still under warranty. Can't praise them highly enough. Silvia especially

Highly recommended!
I bought it, because I didn't want to pay for an expensive broadband. I bought a chip, inserted and it works really well. I have internet at my apartment, connecting a few devices at the same time with no issue. Signal is strong enough for my usage, I can use 2 phones, smart TV, laptop, indoor camera all at the same time and it works perfectly.

High performance, but un reliable
Initially the router appeared easy to install and have a high performance. However it soon became apparent that the connections were unreliable, were frequently being lost and proving difficult to reconnect. After extensive troubleshooting I decided to reset it to factory settings and start again. The reset did not seem to be straight forward as the instructions were vague. After the first reset the quick install did not appear to work and the Settings interface did not connect. After a number of attempts to reset the device I came to the conclusion that it was faulty and had return it - I had spent almost a month trying to overcome the problem and I have quite an extensive background in I.T. One problem that was particularly awkward was that the browser settings interface ip address clashed with my Virgin V3 hub settings address and so would not open - I did not want to mess with the v3 hub as this was not the problem. I have now purchased a TP-Link Archer AX23 router and this automatically identified the clash of the 'Settings browser' ip addresses and reallocated its own ip address so that it could be used - all in all this seems to be a much better router so far, although it was a little more expensive.

Great unit ( bar SMS issue )
Much improved signal over a USB dongle, to be expected really.Found the unit to be very stable , quite a bit of configuration options if wanted.Currently using built in antennas but ordered a couple of external to try and see if I can squeeze a bit more out of it.Surprised by the negative comments, I spent time finding the best signal area in the home as signal is not brilliant where I UsingSMARTY unlimited data £16 monthMy USB dongle hovered constantly jumping 1-2 bar strength mainly 1 bar. This unit stays solid on 2 bar and currently around 75dBi ( good signal ).Downloads vary depending on load on network but during day stays around 12Mb downstream. Weekend seems to go up to around 21MbLots of variables for speed and some people I think don’t actually go out their way to check things.will update if the external antennas improve on this.Update: External Antennas improved dBi to around -71dBi, Signal full bars (excellent)You have to be patient and get the right location and space the antennas correctly around 3 ft apart ( I ordered ones with cables) to allow this.Downloads jumped from approx. 8-10 Mb to over 20Mb.

I wish I'd found this years ago!
Recently moved house having been with Virgine cable for decades - a bit daunted by the thought of a new provider and anything less than cable speeds as I work at home as so many do now. I had a couple of frustrating false starts with two 'normal' fibre providers and in desperation hunted for options - SIM-only wasn't something I'd considered as I thought it would be way too expensive for the data I use. I trialled a SIM card and needed a router to go with it - opted for this one. Well, the headline says it all really - SO easy to set up - no weeks of waiting times and missed appointments/failure to deliver hardware or connections. Just plug it in, register the SUM, put the SIM in - connected! Are the speeds the fastest? No. BUT... they are good and I have two workhorse laptops online all day and my retired hubby (jealous? Me dear?... ;-) watches a lot of prime video, Netflix etc and it copes with all that. Occasionally we get a few minutes (occasionally is perhaps once a month if that) buffering issue, but on the SIM deal, I am saving about 30% a month to the cheapest I could find on a fibre service, so it seems a tiny thing with the benefits overall.

Does the job, just .... but has it's limitations.
Bought to provide a second internet connection using a Three SIM with unlimited data.It works. But the the internal antenna are obviously pretty weak. Running speed test using the same SIM in my phone (a couple of years old mid-range Xiaomi phone) gets FAR stronger results than this thing. Where my phone returns an acceptable speed, in exactly the same location this thing is so slow it's unusable and constantly drops the connection. In other parts of my house, where reception is stronger, it fares better, but is still slower than my phone. In the end, had to locate it high up in the corner of the room it's needed and the signal is acceptable, although by no means fast.I only use it via an ethernet cable connected to a single device, so I can't comment on the wifi strength. But it seemed OK for the brief few minutes it was switched on.The web admin interface is a bit clunky. Not sure port forwarding is possible with it. I couldn't find any options for it.And, as someone else mentioned, it does die completely now and then and needs rebooting to restore connectivity. Thankfully, a software reboot via the admin interface seems to cover it. So I now have a little script than runs in the middle of the night when it's not busy and resets it for me. Without that, it would be incredibly annoying randomly losing internet every now and then. Mine lasted about a week before it needed a restart. Had my script running since then and no problems. So for what I need it for, with a bit of faffing about, it's just about good enough. Would I want it as my main internet connection? No.Would I recommend it? Maybe with caveats. You need to be in a strong signal area. And you need to be prepared to restart it every few days. If you can live with that, go for it.
