I have used items from tea balls, bags, straining, tea steepers, to the animal tea infusers, and for loose tea this is by far my favorite item to infuse tea. It prevents pieces from falling through cracks, and the holes allow for easy infusion vs depositing leaves in the cup.

I've recently gotten a lot of loose tea mixtures and needed a tea ball. The two in this package were smaller than I was familiar with but adequately sized for what I needed. It was easy to fill but the latch was very stiff and hard to close properly. Finally got it closed and it worked quite well in the hot water but once I was done, the latch was very difficult to open. Maybe over time it will loosen up although I sure hope not too much so that the leaf escapes.

I guess you get what you pay for, so just buy these from a reputable and highly rated company.For 2 at 5 bucks, I figured I would try them out. It was my first attempt this year at making my own herbal tea from my garden and I was excited to use these. I had already used one I had at home, but I needed a couple more so others in my family could have tea at the same time.The one I owned previously made a great cup of tea- maybe a few small leaves in the cup, but this was due to how dry it was. As I filled this 2 pack, the poor quality was apparent. Tea all over! The holes are too large and the metal is too flexible so it bends easily, creating a gap between the 2 sides, causing the tea to spill out. It's even worse once submerged. I'd say at least half of the tea was floating in the cup after steeping. They are virtually useless for tea. Maybe I'll make them into ornaments or something because it's just not worth the drive and standing in line to return them at Kohl's or wherever they make you go now instead of allowing you to drop of at Ups drop offs.
