Espresso Tamper, X-Chef Coffee Tamper 51/ 58mm, 304 Stainless Steel, Dual Sided Flat Base for Barista, Dishwasher Safe

Very sturdy, has a nice heavy feel. Great price. The flat surface makes pressing down while tamping is easy and comfortable in the palm of the hand. It is made in three pieces so I needed to screw the top and bottom parts tightly onto the center shaft to keep it from loosening. The large end measure 58.2 mm and fits my Rancilio Silvia baskets. There is very little space between the tamper and the basket edge. The small end measure 51.0 mm.

Perfectly machined with no uneven edges, highly polished, the millimeter sizes are clearly engraved, and all for a low price. Contrast this with RSVP Terry's Tamper, which has uneven edges causing the tamper to rock lopsided in the filter and creating gaps, has a rougher pitted finish, and the millimeter sizes are not marked. I would pay twice the price for this X-Chef tamper over Terry's Tamper! But I don't have to because they're both the same price, so definitely go with the X-Chef! Also, I find I like this design better than the single sided tampers with a handle because it just works better when I'm pressing down on a flat surface instead of a rounded handle. THANKS X-CHEF! Also, this tamper works perfectly with my Mr. Coffee Espresso machine model ECMP50, as the filters are 51mm.

Best pandemic odd purchase ever! I've come to love cafe con leche as my coffee of choice in the morning, but making the perfect Cuban espresso was hit and miss due to how packed the grounds were in my Moka pot -- but luckily this little guy solved all my problems. Every cup now is a perfect brew! The wider end fits my Moka pot perfectly and the weight of it does a nice compact on the coffee. I'm so glad I found this and made this purchase. May be my ultimate stocking stuffer for others for Christmas!

Not every product deserves 5 out of 5. I did it for this one because there isn't much to rate for a simple device like this. It's quality is good, and it was the exact size specified. It was also just about the cheapest. Plus, even though I don't need the large size, it is multifunctional coming with two different sized. What the hell else does it take for your to make it a 5? (to all the people who did not give it a 5). I guess maybe a 4 if you want a comfort handle, but this thing was perfectly comfortable as it is in my own opinion and light weight.

This tamper works very well, but the design is a little bit bothersome. When I use the smaller end, the larger end (that I'm gripping) tends to come loose. It screws back on easily, but it gets annoying to have to tighten it all of the time. I wish it were one solid piece of machined steel, but besides that it is great. The finish is exceptional, and the dimensions are spot on.

Ordered this late last week when the plastic tamper that came with my Breville espresso machine broke, and got it today. This is beautiful to look at, fit my hand and the portafilter perfectly, and most importantly the tamping was a breeze. And the cappuccino was wonderful!I was considering a cheaper model, but you could see the casting marks. It looked very unfinished.This will be on the counter all the time, and for the extra dollar, this is easy on the eyes and hand.

I wish I would have known what size I needed before I bought this tamper I would have bought one with a round too but this tamper is great works well and sturdy.

Was quite surprised by the quality of this tamper. The finish on it is really nice, looks exactly like the picture.I also ordered the Fox Run 5900 tamper and that thing was trash.
