G-Sides Audio CD – CD, February 26, 2002

Album shipped in mint condition and arrived on time as promised. Was appreciative of the packaging used to keep it safe and I'm more than happy with the purchase. Would definitely use this seller again

Really great album, but on my album, there was a huge scratch on the front cover, the cover broke off of the jewel case, and the c-d holder broke. :( would likely refund to get a better condition

I bought this album mainly because I wanted the version of "Latin Simone" that's on it. For some reason I wasn't expecting the rest of the album to be good but I was impressed with the songs through the first listen. After a few more listens, I was definitely happy I had gotten the entire album. Despite the lengthy remix of 19-2000, all the tracks stack up with the rest of their material in my opinion. Highlights include "The Sounder (Edit)" and of course "Latin Simone". I had never heard of the rap group Phi Life Cypher before, but on here they lay down some good lines and I like their flow. Their version of "Clint Eastwood" in my opinion would be a strong track on its own.

The thing that saved this album for me were the songs "Ghost Train" and "12D3" which happen to be two of my favorites. Besides that, the Wiseguys House of Wisdom remix kind of ruins it. It's needlessly long and sounds nothing like the song it came from. Not necessarily bad music - it sounds like something you might dance to at a rave, but I felt it wasn't a good choice to put on the disc.Overall I haven't really paid much attention to this album because the Wiseguys remix kind of repelled me.The 19-2000 Soulchild remix is amazing, but it was already on the version of the first Gorillaz album I have so it's not really a reason (for me personally) to get it.Latin Simone - I haven't really paid much attention to this version yet. Maybe I will soon. I like Damon Albarn's voice on it, though.19-2000 Wiseguys remix - Enh. Sounds okay, but it's long and annoying.The Sounder - Didn't really pay much attention to this either. I remember it sounding kind of cool, at least.Faust - Another I didn't pay a lot of attention to yet. @~@ It DOES sound nice.Clint Eastwood (Phi Life Cypher version) - Pretty good.Ghost Train - Repetitive, but I find it wildly amusing.Hip Albatross - A lot of noise, really.12D3 - A sweet, simple tune. I adore it.I think that this would be a great buy if you're a real Gorillaz fan and want to hear some of their stuff that didn't quite make the cut, but otherwise it's probably not for you.

I like it. Sometimes the mixes sound better than the original songs.

Like any b-side collection, "G-Sides" will only be interesting to those who consider temselves fans of Gorillaz. For the most part, the songs and remixes on this album make a perfect complement to Gorillaz' self-titled debut.Unfortunately, when "G-Sides" isn't perfect, it positively stinks. I am referring specifically to the Wiseguys House of Wisdom remix of 19-2000. This "remix", which lasts over 7 minutes long, uses almost no samples from the original track (which was my favorite, making this travesty even more maddening).Luckily, the remaining tracks are flawless. My personal favorite is "Ghost Train", where the rhythm section does give the impression of a being on a moving train...

good new grooves and remixes to Gorillaz songs from their debut. This came between "Gorillaz" and Demon Dayz" and included a few new tracks that help bridge the gap between the two great albums. should be added to any Gorillaz fan collection
