I've measured everything that I could with this little device!
With energy prices on the rise, I needed to find out what was draining power because the Meter seemed to over-report what I had been using. Background:I measured absolutely everything for weeks with this handy device and so far I suspect the Energy Company's Meter to be reporting incorrectly as everything seems to be +40% the actual use. e.g. If I tallied everything up and recorded 6.3 kwh, the meter would rise by 8 kwh and this constantly happened. 4.1 kwh ticked to 6 kwh, 5.6 kwh turned into 12 kwh. Some values were recorded within 1kwh accuracy in shorter time frames, but in a full day these differences add up and start to paint a strange picture. The Product:- Very easy to use, literally the embodiment of Plug and Play.- The Functions are intuitive, if people are saying that the numbers keep rising and coming down, that's probably the first setting they're on? Which shows the Wattage and can differ depending on usage, e.g. if you're on a PC and if it's working hard, the Wattage would rise. If your press Function, after this default setting, you'll be on the total KWH used.- I'd say the device is fairly accurate, it can definitely detect changes when more intensive settings are used. e.g. a Hairdryer on a higher heat setting. And it's consistent. I microwaved something for a minute, and repeated this and got the same values.Negatives:- The reset button it purposefully hard to reach, but needing to use that PIN every time is a bit of a hassle, I wish there was a way to store the little metal prickler ON the device so that I don't have to rummage around to find it.- As everyone reports, the values are hard to read without some sort of light as there's no backlight.Other comments:The most intensive device I used this was with a vacuum cleaner, the instructions say that if the device goes above 3000W, it would show a warning message, the most I've seen it go so far is around 2000W, but I don't want to risk going further. I wouldn't advise usage with a Washing Machine without monitoring for instance as this might use a lot of power. Can never be too safe.Overall, I am fond of this device, it helped me keep track of my energy usage. There was a lot of similarly shaped devices out there but I'm happy with it, even if it is hard to see.

Is it worth getting?
I honestly don't know. We found it VERY, VERY hard to set up. The instructions are arcane to say the least. It is easy to read but have no idea if it's accurate. My conclusion is that it is a waste of money if you are looking for an easy to use energy monitoring device. Ours now lies at the back of our "everything drawer".

Does Exactly what I needed it for
Since I working from home I noticed my electric bill slowly climbing but obviously my wage stayed the same, even though there is extra equipment I have to have plugged in causing my electric bill to go higher,as such I brought this so that I can keep an eye on the electric use of the extra items, it's nice and simple to use as it is just plug and play, you can set costs etc if you wish, it feels very well made and does not seem to cause any energy loss, the only thing I would like to see is the screen being back-light, but that is only because I am too lazy to bend down, awesome product and I have recommended it to a lot of people that are working from home with extra equipment

Works well after some faffing.
Works to your purposes, whatever they may be out of the available functions. However, the screen is difficult to read as you have to have significant light and be basically eye level with the thing.Takes some time to understand how to work, I actually ended up tossing aside the booklet that came with it and instead looking for a YouTube video on a similar product which helped a lot more.

What' s gobbling your electricity
Very easy to set up and use - just plug it in!Be amazed at what is gobbling up your costly electricity! And then the agony - what will you do! my Freezer is potentially costing me more than £1.2 per day yes £440 pa!the only negative - the reset button could be a lot easier to use so you can easily measure different appliances

Paying for itself
My electricity usage was pretty high and I wanted to understand why, so I bought this. As others have mentioned a backlight would be useful but using a torch works just as well!I was stunned to find my big OLED TV was drawing more than 200 watts. Changing the energy saving settings brought that down by a whopping 60 watts which over a few hours is a decent saving. I also worked out that some professional monitor speakers were drawing a fair whack and leaving some nice LED strips on all day when not needed was also adding up.Overall, with the aid of this, a spreadsheet and some kWh formulas I found online, I'm now saving at least 45p a day and my smart meter is less scary. Effectively this is paying for itself within a month, so I'm very happy.I guess my top tip is check your TV's energy saving settings because that was the biggest shock!
