Difficult to setup but when done so, one of the better printers out there..
Purchased the Artist D Pro via Amazon. This is a very nice printer. the IDEX printer works well out of the box, but perfectly once you have tweaked the settings correctly. The YouTube videos don’t lie, you need to be patient when leveling the bed. The first extruded isn’t that problematic, but the second one requires you to loosen four screws on the back of the extruder and then lower or rise the extruder itself. The biggest issue with that is that when you loosen it and then you tighten it again, it moves a bit and messes up the leveling of it.. You have to be extremely patient to get it just right. When you do get it right, it gives you nice prints especially in fine and super fine settings in your splicer.. I would highly recommend it.. Stick with it regardless of the difficulty of setting it up to have a pretty good printer.D.

Looks nice.
Printer looks good, don't know if it works or not though because the program that comes with it doesn't work just fails when trying to open it. Very expensive desk ornament.

Potentially good machine while it works, poor support and impossible to find parts
Likes:- Size (1.5x Ender 3)- Excellent print quality- Simple construction, quick to put together- Accompanying tools much better quality than most other printer makers (forged wrench, not stamped, excellent big Allen/hex wrench with handle and case, very nice scraper with wooden handle, not plastic)- Documentation better than most other printer makers, but still needs work- Company support tries hard, decent response times, but advice not helpful even with photos I supplied- Nice color touchscreen (this is a force push screen, like a microwave, not a real touchscreen like a phone, bit still OK)Dislikes:- First unit severely damaged in shipping, not evident from box. Company quickly sent replacement parts (1 extruder head) but this took more than 2 weeks to arrive, did not address problem. Apparently some of the driver chips had been knocked out of the driver board during shipping. I could not figure out how to open the case without completely deconstructing the machine. I ended up returning this machine and got another one that was perfect (and >$100 cheaper!).- Leveling and calibration process is tedious, but it does make sense if you think about how the machine is designed. Some people advocate removing the post in the middle of the bed, but if you follow the recommended leveling instructions, this is not necessary (IMHO). End result well worth the setup.- The documentation is much better than others (Creality, Geeetech, etc.) but still has minor inaccuracies that are a little frustrating (see below).- The company is very responsive to support requests in my experience, but their engineer didn't look at the photos I sent of driver chips that had fallen out of the case. He recommended that some of the cables were loose (NOT). Weak. I still don't know how to properly open the case, but hopefully I won't need to on this unit.- Best support is on Facebook group. I had discontinued Facebook, so I had to create a dummy account just to browse this information. Not well organized, and search capabilities are weak. After MUCH scrolling I found the answer to my problem. (This is the same issue someone else reported, of the printheads crashing into each other. There is an "X-Mode" setting that controls this, and the default setting is if you want to run the printer with just one print head. You must change to the second mode to allow the printer to swap between heads properly. Why they would even have the first/default mode is beyond me. Note that the documentation and the printer interface do not match, so just switch to the second mode.)- Louder than Ender 3, but it has 4 print head fans, not 2. No big deal to me.Summary:I like it and will beat on it, will probably get another. If you must have 2 print heads, get this machine if you're on a budget.******Update 11/2021******While the printer worked great for a while, I am starting to experience the same problems that other people have:- The stepper drivers tend to fail. This caused one of my extruders to slowly peter out, then completely fail. Apparently this is a well documented issue.- The filament runout sensors are not reliable. I was near the end of a 200-hour print and one spool ran out, the detector did not stop the machine, $80 of filament wasted. I have remixed a better detector on Thingiverse that should address issues.- The extruders chronically under-extrude. There are a number of mods that people have tried, but in general the consensus is that these extruders are just not very good. There is still not a clear replacement path to more popular/reliable extruders, but I would guess this will come fairly soon (on the Facebook group, which is the only place you can get real support).- SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE! Don't get this machine if you think you can get warranty parts. The US support has no voicemail, and told me to switch the cables on the extruders to try and diagnose the stepper failure and the machine BURST INTO FLAMES the second I turned it on. Apparently this is a common issue with this machine! I went through a difficult process with support in China to get replacement cables and a stepper driver (US support has no authority to provide warranty parts), and they sent the wrong parts!Very frustrating and disappointing.

Worst printer ever! even worst is their horrible customer service! Buy basically anything else
*** updated***Where do I start? The firmware is terrible! So bad that the two print heads would constantly bash into each other in mirror mode right out of the box. Sometimes the heads would attempt to roll off the rails even after depressing the stop sensor at the end of the rail causing the belt to make a loud stripping sound. These are known issues as other customers complain of the exact same thing via JG makers Facebook page. What you see in the photo is a good representation of what you can't expect from this printer. JG also misrepresents their product in their promotional photos and fail to show you the cheap ribbon that attached to each extruder head. It is glued to each post and comes over the top and plugs into the extruder head unit. I thought it was cheesy and ok at first until I realized that the filament rubs directly on the ribbon constantly. This is a disaster waiting to happen. My unit came with a warped print bed which was unable to be leveled regardless of what I did. To make matters worse the holes for the tension screws for the print bed were not drilled large enough. This caused too much friction for the weak JG maker springs to push the bed up on its own for leveling. A rep at JG maker suggested that I remove the bed and drill the holes larger and replace the springs with creality springs? Once again JG maker refused to take responsibility for their poor craftsmanship. After I fixed the bed leveling by upgrading to reality springs I also added a removable creality magnetic bed which works better than JGs although their was not bad.For some reason in mirror mode my right extruder would clog. This happened regardless of filament brand or type. JG seemed stumped. They tried to get me to take apart the machine and replace or swap out the extruder drivers? This type of work should never be placed on a consumer. This was a brand new machine. Consumers should not have to disassemble a new printer to fix or troubleshoot JG.After weeks and hundreds of messages via Facebook messenger I finally convinced them that I needed a new print bed replacement which took nearly a month to get. Oh, and I had to install it myself or choose to ship it back to them at my cost! All that said, the worst part of the JG marker printer is not the printer itself, it is JGs customer support / service. If you reach out to JG maker thought their website you will quickly find that JG redirects you to the Facebook page where they run all communication through Facebook messenger. Once you go through Facebook Messenger any representative on the other end can answer your questions. The problem is every time I would reach out to them I would get someone different. That new someone had zero historical data of any previous conversations. This forced me to start over from scratch listing all of my issues again, which resulted in a new idea for troubleshooting from the JG maker good idea fairy. This just lead to more troubleshooting and continued dead ends with NO resolutions. Even though I asked multiple times for a replacement and even an upgrade for my troubles I got no real results. The only consistent result I got from JG makers customer service was more troubleshooting. The hardware and firmware has its corks but the people at JG make the hardware a real price of garbage.I liked the design and idea of this printer but the hassle of dealing with JGs customer service is not worth it. You are better off buying a creality.Bottom line, Do not buy this printer unless you want to deal with crappy unrefined firmware, mediocre hardware and the worst customer service on the planet!***UPDATE*** Aug 21st 2021Since writing this review, JG maker has reached out to me multiple times asking me to reverse my review comments. Even offering me store credit among other things to do so. AFTER DEALING WITH THEM WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN EVEN IF IT WAS FREE???They say that my comments are damaging to their company. The fact is, these are factual events. If they would have treated their product and customers with respect and dignity none of these comments would have been written. The review of their product is 100% valid! Furthermore I stand by my previous statement, if you buy a JG maker artist d you can expect to have heartache and frustrations. If you have the ability to work on these yourself without having to deal with JG makers customer service you may be better off than others. When you buy a brand new machine you do not expect to have to upgrade or modify it in any way on day one.My statements above become more real when you realize that there are 3D printer enthusiast that have modified and upgraded JG makers firmware. They did not do this for fun they did it so the JG maker would function properly!I do not know about you, but when I drop $700 on a brand new piece of equipment it better function correctly.

Best printer yet!!
Tried 4 new printers and they did not work out of the box. Sent all back. With the Artist-D Pro it seems like I have stepped up to a finer grade of printers. Facebook group will have all the answers, and you do not have to wait 24 hours for help.

Great product, great service.
I’m pretty new to 3d printing but I have to say, this printer has been excellent for me so far. I’ve only purchased at the beginning of the month but it was simple enough to put together and has printed great from the start. The fans are pretty loud but the motors are very quiet. The wires by the bed and ribbons could be better organized and there are still certain things I haven’t figured yet out especially with the SD card and software aspect which is a bit strange to me. I had to create a specific profile for it on cura that I found on Youtube.I can only compare it to the Prusa mk3s+ which I purchased and put together myself in April but this printer has really impressed me in almost all aspects including the quick response and great customer support.. Hopefully this machine is reliable in the long run as well. I’ll definitely be considering to purchase another one in the near future.

Printer died after only 1 week
This is not a printer for beginner. The stepper motor on extruder 2 stopped working after only 1 week. I'm returning it back to Amazon today. This is my 7th 3D printer in 1 year and my 2nd IDEX printer (all from Amazon). The previous IDEX one was the Tenlog tl-d3 pro (from Amazon) and the electronics also died in 8 days only !!!The reasons why I give 2 stars are as follows:1-The build plate. The plastic sticks too much to it and started the rip the build plate (yes, making holes) when removing printed models even after cooling down. I replaced the build plate by a glass plate for a CR-10 (same size, but height of 4mm instead of 1mm) and changed the height of the z limit switch. Worked like a charm after that !!!2-The position of the runout filament sensor cause too much friction on the filament.3-The purge buckets are designed to have the nozzle rest on the brushes causing plastic to cool down and stick to the brushes. I had time to redesign them to fix that problem by moving forward the brush and having the nozzle rest over an empty bucket instead.4-Calibrating the height of extruder 2. A real pain in the ass.I would have kept the printer and probably give it 3 or 4 stars (didn't have the chance to print in dual mode. I was planning on doing that today...) but, if the electronics of the printer dies before the 30 days return window of Amazon. It's bye-bye Charlie Brown !!!
