Q: I am only considering this if it has zero plastic in wrapping of any kind, whether in shipping, or in packaging. does anyone know?

Like Jon, in 2019 , the rolls were protected by paper wrap (I assume recycled paper), shipped in the large cardboard box as of November 2018, but I have not purchased them recently. EP in 2019 I am in agreement with, but I don't think demanding lack of plastic wrap from Amazon is as effective as calling or writing Marcal Customer Service. Fat wrapping tape is less damaging environmentally, but still aids the integrity of the shipping box.

Q: is product 4.5" wide?

Yes. I find it just as good to use as any other toilet paper product. I like the fact that the company has not cut down any trees since the 50s.

Q: Is this product biodegradable?

All toilet paper is biodegradable, it's just its nature of what it's made of. Hope that helps.

Q: Does it have a smoke smell from the fire

Don't know what fire you're referring to... However, despite its other negatives; I did not notice an odor of smoke.
