Smartwool Basic Knee High Sock

I love these socks, they are the second pair of smartwool socks i have ever gotten and i can say that i just absolutely love all the smartwool socks. They are like luxurious little pillowy clouds floating around my feet and make just about every single pair of shoes i own even more comfortable than they already are. They are thick yet don't make you sweat like crazy even in the blazing hot summer heat and keep my feet warm even in the crisp chilly winter air. I have worn these in hot and cold temps and they regulate my feet/leg warmth so well i don't ever feel uncomfortable.Since i purchased these i actually bought several other pairs and each one feels the same and is exceptional quality.They keep themselves clean and don't smell until several uses, even the most offensively smelly feet still can take several wears in smartwool socks before you need to throw them in the wash. (i usually wash these like once a week of continual wear, i could actually go on to a couple if not few weeks and they still smell fine and feel fine its crazy lol) I would suggest that after washing that they are hang dried to make them last longer since the dryer can strip away the fibers of your socks and that is no fun :<All in all i love these socks and i most definitely will be buying smartwool socks from now on as part of my main wardrobe.

I am a diehard SmartWool fan but I wanted to be fair and try other brands, too. As I needed different colors, and wanted to stay in a price range, I decided to order two different colors of the Wigwam socks and one knee sock of my faved SmartWool.The first to arrive were the Wigwams and I immediately put them on. The first thing I noticed is that I didn't have anything to comment on at all. No oohs and ahhhs; nothing to 'write home about'. They're socks. So, I kind of wondered why the high price then?I think I would have been just as happy buying ANY sock from the local department store. I just simply had the "oh well" feeling of resignation; the "well, I bought 'em, I will just like them" feeling.THEN this morning, my SMARTWOOL knee sock arrived..WOW!!!! It's a whole different ballgame!! I couldn't wait to put them on. I mean I was actually excited. Immediately you feel wonderful. Immediately your feet feel pampered, hugged and given great luxurious comfort. And as I pulled it up my calves, even my calves went "ahhhhh". THIS is the difference. THIS is why the price; why the ratings; why the diehard fans like myself. THIS is why last year I gifted three pair of SmartWool socks. And THIS is why I removed ALL my socks from my drawers and bagged them for Goodwill because I don't even wear them anymore.I always ask myself which pair is my favorite SmartWool sock? Well, none of them - because they ALL are!

I love these socks, they are a favorite going foward for warmth along with quality. Wore these to China in Dec/Jan for the International Snow and Ice Festival. Kept my feet toasty and warm while walking around in freezing temps. Washes very nice.

I'm a southerner that just recently moved north. My biggest worry for winter was keeping my extremities warm. So, after a lot of research, I stumbled upon Smartwool socks. I've now got 3 pairs and my feet have never been warmer. I use this pair for my runs outside. So far the lowest it's gotten on my runs is 20 degrees and my toes/calves were toasty the whole time. I'm asking for more pairs for Christmas because I refuse to wear any other socks in the cold weather. They aren't bulky but are soft and do an amazing job keeping my feet warm! I'm also getting a pair for my stepdad who works outside and always has cold toes. I can't wait to hear how he likes them!

These are wonderful wool socks to keep your feet warm on cold days. Full confession: I'm a guy. But I bought these socks! Why? I got the thinnest Smartwool socks for men, but they're heavier than these; not exactly great in dress shoes. My wife has a few pairs of these, and hey. Perfect I said. They also go up over the calf, and have a really wide set of elastic at the top, so they don't fall down. Also if you want to pair them with a liner, it's again, not too heavy for dress shoes. Smartwool should make these for guys. Or, well...just sell the exact same product, but market it for guys. Just call them unisex maybe?

I really liked these socks because they stay up, are really comfortable, sizing is accurate and they keep you warm.BUT I wore them about 4 times and then the toes started giving out. I find this a lot of with how women's socks are made. There is no reinforcement in the toe area in women's socks. I wish they were made better for this reason because they are a nice sock.

I was looking for a wool knee high sock that was not too thick yet cushioned & warm. These fit the bill exactly.

Smartwool socks are without question the best for keeping your feet warm. I know because I have severe Raynaud's and have tried about every sock on the market. What happiness to find that Smartwool also makes knee highs in their wonderful, warming, durable material. Yes they are pricey but to me anyway, well worth it. The knee highs do run a little smaller in the foot than Smartwool's regular hiking socks and are snug in the leg also, but weren't uncomfortable. These will become a staple of my wardrobe.

Smartwool is a good brand, but pricey. The knee high is my go-to winter sock. Sadly, the toes wear through more quickly than the rest. I get maybe 3 winters out of several pairs. The heel also wears. At the price, this was a big disappointment. I found the plain socks were sturdier than the patterned ones.
