Works well, fairly easy to install
The Flush valve works well. The old one took a while to remove, I had to break a piece to be able to remove it. Now that it's removed I understand how to do it and it would have been fairly easy to do. The new Flush valve has to tighten, and it takes a while to get it tighten properly. Keep going with the wrench provided until you can't turn it anymore or it will leak. Amazon recommended a plastic wrench to purchase to help tighten the valve, it costs about $CDN 20.00, but don't bother, the valve comes with the same wrench included.

Heavy Duty
Tool that comes with flush valve is weak and breaks easily. This solved the problem of removing old flush valve.

Did not fit
Easy to modify with a Dremel. Finally got the 30 y old part out and fixed the leaky toilet. Cheaper than then calling the plumber!

Much heavier construction than what is supplied with the flush valve
To remove the flush valve in on an American standard one-piece toilet, you lift the flapper valve and unscrew a ring from inside the pipe using a 3/8th drive ratchet, a long extension, and this tool. Since the replacement valve comes with a thin plastic disc that is used to engage the 4 plastic tabs on the ring and unscrew the ring, this tool MAY not be necessary unless your plastic ring is tight. Others have complained that the tool supplied with the new valve is not strong enough, broke, etc. My flush valve came out easily and the tool supplied with the new flush valve probably would have been sufficient, but I ordered and used this tool and worked perfectly for its intended purpose.
