livre anglophone relié rigide grand format récent (2007) consacré aux oiseaux du monde; après des généralités superbement illustrées sur une quinzaine de pages, le livre décrit 834 espèces emblématiques américines, océaniennes, asiatiques, européennes ou africaines à raison de 2 par page; textes détaillés, fiches systématisées, splendides photos couleur et cartes de distribution; espèces soeurs en encart non illustrées, portant le total des des espèces décrites à 1600; une soixantaine de pages en fin d'ouvrage expliquent la biologie et l'histoire naturelle des oiseaux; malgré son caractère non exhaustif (il existe 10000 espèces!), cet ouvrage ecyclopédique, ravira tous les amoureux d'oiseaux néophytes ou ornithologues confirmés et méritera amplement sa place dans leur bibliothèque

A comprehensive look at birds excellent for self teachingor for teaching children about the fascinating species of World birds. Very well illustrated, paired with good descriptions of each species.
