Oil & Acrylic: Flowers

In the book, It only contains five different kinds of flowers. Although the flowers are very pretty.

did not have enough instructions to help someone - I did not like it

Pretty pictures, but I would have liked more painting strokes instructions.

This books title is completely misleading, probably to sell more books? It is really only about oil painting, with a note somewhere to say that acrylics can be used in a similar way. It also says on the cover, "Learn to Paint Step by Step ". I really don't think that this book is suitable for beginners who want to learn to paint. There are not enough explanations about how to use the techniques described, and it is too complex for a complete beginner.The beginning of the book discusses colours. However, the colours shown there are not the ones named in each list of materials required for the pictures.Also, the list of materials doesn't specify which brushes to use. Within the text, "a broad, flat brush" might not mean much to a beginner.I also think that a beginner might struggle with the lack of direction concerning which kind of "support" to use, eg. Canvass or wood.The only thing I could have given 5 stars for, is the presentation of this book. The photography, colours and layout are beautiful. It is badly let down by insufficient information and a cut and paste approach in the actual text.

The book used oils and very few acrylics. It is not what I consider a step by step painting instructions.
