Good Little Roller
So, I bought Fitness Answered’s Massage Stick Muscle Roller, actually two, and if I like a product I feel like I should share my experience. There is a lot of, less than quality products, being sold on Amazon, so I feel it’s important to give feedback if you find something that you like. So far, I can say that it seems to be a well made product that does the job that it was intended to do. My background: I’m a personal trainer and have been for a few years now. No, this doesn’t make me an expert on all products relevant to fitness. Just as every doctor isn’t as qualified as the next. However, day to day as I workout, or as I provide training to others, the most prevailing problem is tight muscles. These tight muscles can be just a nuisance in the fact that you don’t feel like working out because you’re uncomfortable, or they can cause pulls and tears. In so much of the training that I have received and the classes that I have taken, there is one thing that all of the certification training companies address as a way to improve muscle readiness or recovery. Is it Protein? No…. Must me creatine then, right?! No…. It’s not any over the counter supplement. It is called Self Myofascial Release, or SMR for short. Usually done with a foam roller. It is a process of applying pressure to scar tissue that builds in your muscles as they recover from the micro tears when you do a workout. This is how muscle grows. You do full movements with a weight or resistance that your body isn’t accustomed too, and your body repairs the damage. Think of it, if you will, like when you get a cut. Your body heals it and you’re left with a small amount of scar tissue. The muscle roller stick applies pressure to these knots and scar tissue while you force fresh nutrient rich blood to the affected area, and this in turn gives relief and over time will repair the blood flow through the tissue back to normal amount. Okay, enough with the physiology lesson. Back to the Massage Roller Stick review. Why I Like This Product Over Foam Rollers: Like I stated earlier, SMR is usually advocated to be done with a foam roller. While foam rollers work and they are fine for someone else, I personally don’t love rolling around on the floor at the gym during peak hours. A: the gym isn’t always the cleanest, especially during peak hours when its exceptionally busy and everyone is sweating everywhere. And B: It draws attention, which almost none of my clients like. The Muscle Roller stick accomplishes the job very well and you can do it sitting on a bench or in a more confined area. Also, with a foam roller your body weight determines the pressure and can, at times, be uncomfortable. If you apply too much pressure and stress the muscle tissue, you are defeating the purpose and losing ground on the goal. What I Like: I really like how the stick has a small profile and can fit easily into my bag. Even my back pack. Before, I would just leave my foam roller at the gym because it was far from a space saver. Also, the build quality seems very good. Over time, as you can imagine that a “foam” roller will break down from use. The massage roller is made of metal and what I assume is ABS plastic. It doesn’t flex like it is going to break and I really think that it will hold up over time. It doesn’t squeak or squeal like I have read about other brand’s sticks, which i think is due to the extra clearance between the stick and rollers. Quirks: It’s a little too short to be able to do my upper body on my own. However, I can hardly call this a flaw, because one of my perks is how well it fits in my bag. For me, its not too big of a deal that I can’t do my upper body with the roller stick, since my legs are my primary distress points with the most tension and uncomfort. In summary, I think it’s a pretty good little product and I have been allowing my clients to use my extra stick at the gym. So far, no complaints, but they didn’t have to spend the money on it. I’ll be sure to keep my review updated if I have problems, but right now, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a way to supplement their training and reduce muscle soreness.

Excellent product
The Massager Stick is an ideal product for anyone from runners to those struggling up the stairs after an intense leg day spent throwing around some iron. Simply rolling the stick over sore muscle groups helps stretch the soft tissue increasing blood flow and circulation. This allows muscles to both recover faster and warm up efficiently to prevent injury.I based my rating on the following qualities:1) Price: For $20.00, the buyer is getting much more than what they paid for. Similar products can easily cost upwards of $50.00 while achieving the same functions. The price is both fair and competitive.2) Quality: The massager stick feels durable in your hands and rigid enough support the pressures created from the massaging process. The inner steel bar adds weight and strength to the product. This added weight helps apply more force to muscles efficiently and the steel bar will prevent the device from bending or breaking.3) User friendliness: This particular roller is eighteen inches in length making it ideal for traveling in a gym bag or storage in a locker. I like how it is designed to be used on one leg at a time; the user can easily position the roller in many different angles without interference.4) Functionality: The concept is simple making the massager stick easy to use. Muscle relief begins after the first pass and is effectively obtained after around 20 repetitions. I also find the massager stick works as a great tool for warming up and stretching in preparation of an intense workout. This product makes for a great gift to any athlete and the variety of color choices allows the purchaser to display a little extra thoughtfulness. It also allows the shopper for a gym to match their logo or current color scheme, which might be important to some people. . I recommend the massager stick to anyone searching for a cure to their muscle soreness or who wants to improve their athletic ability.

Better than a foam roller
Rolls smoothly and the texture feels great on the muscles. Compared to a foam roller, this is much better for targeting specific, hard to reach areas and I can control the amount of pressure I'm using.

Works well for those who need it
I am a runner and have seen many of my friends use these to release knots with success. My mother has an issue where knots build up in her legs causing her tons of discomfort. I decided to have her try it out to see what she thought. What ended up happening is that it is much easier to have someone else do it for you (unless you can tolerate the pain) to fully release the muscles in your legs. The bad part is that it doesn't have as high of quality as some of the other rollers of name brands. It runs somewhat smooth across legs and is really easy to use. If I was looking at a roller for myself, I would not buy it but instead look for one that is smoother. This isn't the highest quality of roller but is a good bang for your buck!

I got this mainly for my legs. I was at sports meet for HS one day and saw the athletes, from our school, using this.Since I drive and sit most days my legs were getting stiff as I age. Bought this and have been using it daily and it’s been working!!! Legs feel good, no cramping and not as stiff. Perfect for what I needed.

I love it, my family loves it
Just the thing I needed. I have achy feet, back, and knees. This massage stick really digs deep into my tissue where I feel tense and sore. I like to use this post workout/ after work. It has also helped my father with back and shoulder issues. He tells me if relieves him of pain whenever he does his gardening.
