THE LENGTH OF TIME A CARTRIDGE LASTS DEPENDS ON SEVERAL FACTORS. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THE NUMBER OF TIMES CLEANED & HOW, not power washed. In season the cartridge should be cleaned every 4-5 wks. If a lot of debris or algae, the cartridge will need to be cleaned every day until the pool is clear. If not cleaned often the cartridge will collapse. *The swimming season. *The water chemistry. *If the pool is inside a screen. *The number of swimmers, lotions, & pets in the pool, etc. *If the area around the pool is treated for insecticides or fertilized. *Chemicals used to remove phosphates break down the filter media. As an update to my original review, this past weekend I cleaned the filters for the very first time and I was surprised after such a short time that the filter straps are loosening up and one has even broken.In the past I have purchased Hayward, Pleactco and Uni-cell replacement filter cartridges and have NEVER experienced such heavy filter wear in such a short time!The filter straps appear to be made out of a fabric like material versus the more typical plastic and because of this I feel add to premature wear.At this rate of wear I'll be lucky to get a year of use which is very sad because the prior cartridges have provided me with up to 4+ years of use and usually the filters clog up before the straps ever come apart.Also, the density of of filter pleats appear to me approximately 20% less that the other brands listed above. Less density = less surface area to clean to pool water and they will clog up faster.

Had to "modify" because of the material they are made of.
4 PACK Hayward CX870XRE, Super Star Clear 4000 ALL AMERICAN Replacement Filter Cartridges, Unicel C-7487, Pleatco PA100N, Filbur FC-1270 Swimming Pool Filter Cartridges These pool filters have a rigid plastic top and bottom. The filters we replaced had flexible rubber top and bottom. The measurements were correct for the replacement filters but because they were made out of rigid plastic there was no "give" for installation. We had to ream the holes out a little and lube them in order to get them installed.

A good replacment pool filter cartridge
A very good price for these filter cartridges. I did have to enlarge the center openings with a file in order to properly fit the cartridges onto the base inside the filter housing. A small effort for significant cost savings.

Quality is good and they work very well
Quality is good and they work very well. They do seem a little less durable then the original Hayward cartridges butt it doesn't look like it impacts the water quality. Great price compared to the pool stores locally.

Recommended
This was a great value and MUCH less expensive than the brand version. I did have to very lightly sand the openings to fit my filter as they were a bit too tight to fit. This only took a few minutes. Recommended.

Hayward pool filter replacement
These filters work so well. The pressure in the filter tank is so low that I was amazed.Also they fit perfect as a replacement for the original filters: Unicel C-7487.

Good price; Good product.
I got a great deal. I easily could have spent double the amount at a pool supply store. They were exactly what I expected and they are working great.
