From Zero! 1 - 5 Proven Techniques to Learn Japanese , Hiragana Katakana and Useful Words Chart

I have been following George’s videos for a while on YouTube and I finally decided to buy the books. They are well made and provide excellent practice and supplementary material to ingrain concepts in your head.Don’t be put off by the initial romaji in the first few chapters, the chapters are progressive and you will be writing and recognizing hiragana and katakana as long as you keep it up. I agree with George that many people feel they need to cram and rush and try to learn as many concepts all at once. Despite those “polyglots” you see on YouTube, that is not real language learning. It takes time and tons and tons of practice! Thank you George, Yukari and all the Japan from Zero team for your efforts!!

The books are easy to follow and use a progressive method for learning Kana (slowly replacing the letters used in the English alphabet with Japanese characters). I am midway through the first book and I feel like I have already learned so much. Also, George is amazing and has additional resources on his website YesJapan.com. Would definitely recommend to anyone willing to put in the time to learning a new language!

Book 1 was great. I found a lot of errors in Book 2. It's a shame I can't return them anymore, because I have used Book 1 already, and wrote on it...

My daughter has been teaching herself Japanese and asked for these for her birthday. Since they arrived she has spent time every day. Both of us we excited to see the website had free lessons as well.
