These nunchucks are made of heavy wood, atleast i have got the nunchucks which are heavy wrapped with 2/3 mm foam sheets,, not recommended for children as the nun chuck is still heavy and doesn't run over your hand freely but overall a OK product for the beginners (teens above 15 to 16 yrs/ adults) Totally not recommended for Children's use.
