The Reaper literally starts off where "Predator" leaves off. The Reaper is less inner relationship angst which I really appreciated and more focused on our couple learning each other. This is where our couple really have more intention when it comes to their relationship. I really appreciate that. I never know what authors will do when it comes to focusing on one couple in more than one book but this author really focused on it correctly. What I LovedI am keeping this review a bit shorter so that I don't spoil too much of the plot. So I just want to focus on what I truly enjoyed about this book. I really enjoyed this couple's dynamic. I love how edgy it feels but you also know how full in they both are into the relationship despite that secrets and reveals that crop up between the story. Each of them have demons that they need to fight, but they are so sturdy together as a couple. We get some fun side character that really shines a beautiful life on this story. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. The third act is packed with mystery and intensity and some crazy drama but its the type of setup that you can easily get behind and become so consumed by.What I Struggled WithNothing really. It wasn't quite as consuming as the first book so it didn't quite make it to 6 star rating, but I absolutely loved this one.NarrationThis had the same narration team as the first book and it was superb in every way. Really brought out the right vibes in the right places that fit just right.Overall ViewThe Reaper is a stunning installment that brings in a great conclusion but also leads into what is next for the series. Its packed with thrills and mysteries, secrets and reveals, and a passionate love affair with just the right amount of edge to satisfy!Book Details (also in my shelves)Sub Genre: Dark Romance, Romantic SuspenseCharacter Types: Abused, Alpha Male, Assassin, MafiaThemes: Power Couple, Couple Against the World, Touch Her and DieBook PerspectiveDuo POVRelationship Conflict vs Plot ConflictPlot ConflictIf you like these authors, I recommend This BookPenelope DouglasCora ReillyRina KentRecommendation For Reading OrderYesNarrators:Kai Kennicott, Michael Pierce

The Reaper was everything I wanted and more
After reading The Predator, I was honestly a little worried about The Reaper—you know that feeling when you’re not sure the next book can live up to the first one? But wow, The Reaper absolutely delivered in ways I didn’t expect. From the very beginning, I was drawn right back into this gritty, dark world that Runyx has created, and I couldn’t put it down. What really grabbed me was how complex and real the characters felt. The protagonist in this one? Absolutely ruthless, but also vulnerable in a way that was hard to ignore. I found myself rooting for them, even when they were making morally questionable decisions, and that’s a huge testament to Runyx’s ability to write multi-layered, flawed characters. The chemistry between the leads was everything—that slow-burn tension had me hanging on every page, and I loved the push and pull between them. It was thrilling and frustrating (in the best way), and I loved how their relationship developed amidst all the chaos. The pacing was perfect for me—never too slow, always keeping me on edge with twists I didn’t see coming. I literally found myself staying up late just to finish the chapters because I had to know what happened next. The stakes kept getting higher, and I loved how the plot kept me guessing, even when I thought I had figured it out.As much as this book is dark, it felt like a journey—both emotionally and plot-wise. The world-building continued to impress, and the deeper you get into it, the more invested you become in these characters and their twisted journey. The Reaper was everything I wanted and more. If you’re a fan of dark, complex characters with high-stakes drama, you need to pick this one up. I can’t wait to see where Runyx takes us next, because I’m officially hooked.⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

universal truths
Amazing is only one of many ways to describe this complex story. The poignant understanding and perspective of people who feel so broken but still find love is enough. Love of self. Love of another. Love is the light in the darkness. There is plenty of darkness and spice and plot twists. Amazing read. Can’t wait to keep reading

Great story telling!
This was my first time reading a book from this author, and I was not disappointed. This book contained a lot of everything -mystery, thriller, sex cursing, everything. I look forward to reading more books from this author! I’m gonna jump into the next book of this series, right now!

It was good
Okay, this second book was certainly better than the first. The writing improved significantly, there were less mistakes and more dialogue. Finally Tristan and Morana stopped the INTENSE STARING COMPETITION and started a relationship. The plot was focused mainly on their relationship and romance (there was a lot of 🌶). I liked Tristan and Morana a little more in this second book. And I certainly didn't have to roll my eyes at them too much 😂😂 so that was an improvement.New characters were introduced and I expected a lot of trouble from Chiara but she got few scenes only, Maroni too remained in the background even though he SHOULD have caused some troubles for Morana, but oh well whatever the writer thinks better. And I believe the man who calls himself an enemy of the enemy of Morana is the Shadow man from the book 5 ?? Will see if I'm right when I read the book 5.The plot was still flawed but better than the first book, the story moved forward a little so it was a progress. It was mostly predictable like the first book but the twist towards the end was bit unexpected and quite emotional, and I'm giving this book 4 stars only for that twist.
