Don’t mess with a good product!
Useless waste of money. I bought this as I used to have the original design. The old design was brilliant this is awful. I only have the use of one hand and desperately need something to open tins. This doesn’t open tins I spent an hour opening one tin because it didn’t move or hold to the tin when it finally worked. They should be prosecuted under the trade description act one touch tin opener? One touch to watch it do nothing!

Difficult to remove from the tin
If I could give this zero stars then I would! Absolutely rubbish bit of kit. I purchased it because I suffer with rheumatoid arthritis and found the normal tin openers quite difficult to use, hence the reason for this purchase. Unfortunately this item underwhelms on so many levels. It's not easy to use and attach on to a can. Once in action it is extremely difficult to remove the device from the actual tin. On the two occasions I've used this item, I've had to remove the batteries and forcibly remove the device from the tin. Not practical for someone who finds it difficult to open tins using a regular tin opener. Avoid

Disappointing
It's very noisy, it's erratic, sometimes you have to give it three or more goes to,get it going, also it cuts the can on the outside a couple of millimetres below the rim so you get a spillage and it sometimes leaves the cut paper from the label inside the can, the previous one I had (JML) was much better, that one cut the can inside the rim so there was no spillage, also it sometimes doesn't remove the top completely leaving a small piece hanging so that prevents it stopping. Overall very disappointing, I certainly wouldn't recommend it and when it gives up the ghost, probably sooner rather than later, I certainly won't be buying another Culinaire, I will defensively look for a JML one, a far superior product.

DON'T BUY! Faulty Design
I have had several of the larger, previous models of this product, which have been excellent, reliable and lasted for years, though a pain to remove from the can when the battery dies half way through a job. This model is smaller, erratic logic/sensor circuits which means you have to suspend the can in air whilst the can rotates (the opener no longer travels around the can by itself) and then hold down the button for several rotations until the opener finally disengages and lets go of the can.Bought on 8th March, on 2nd June (outside 30 day return period) the gripping cog fell off! Poor quality materials and manufacture. Will never buy this brand again!

A good can opener for the price
Nothing fundamentally wrong with this can opener, I think the instructions could be clearer because you simply put the opener on the can, press the button to start the process and then leave it alone to do it's thing. The opener moves around the can, whereas if you've used a mains powered one previously you expect to hold the can opener and for the can to move.Anyway, when you do it right it works very well. The start/stop button isn't always the most responsive but it does work.
