Blast and raining glass pebbles in kitchen
i bought this 4 months ago and blasted in the evening all of sudden and smashed the entire glass into pieces, leaving my new kitchen floor and counter full of glass pieces.. lucky that my mother was washing the dishes 5 meters away . I will definitely sue the company for making such a worst gas hob kitchen ever can have.

DO NOT BUY THIS
Well what else can I say about this. My previous review was deleted by amazon saying that the review could not be posted to the website as it doesn’t meet their guideline. We bought this 3 months ago and the corner of it blasted in the morning all of sudden and smashed the entire glass into pieces, leaving my new kitchen floor and counter full of glass pieces.

Very Good Value
Bought this hob after extensive research because I didn’t want one with the wok burner in the centre of the hob.It looks really good and is simple to clean. We are very pleased with the operational functions, I was a little concerned about other reviewers comments that you can’t turn the gas to very low but it will easily turn and work as low as you need on any burner.Definitely recommend this item.

Be Aware Before Buying
We purchased the Russell Hobb hob as well as the matching extraction hood from Amazon. For the reasons below I would advise against buying this bob from Russell Hobb. The first issue that we had after the installation was that when the burners were lowered to their lowest setting, the heat was still way too high, so it was impossible to have something on a low simmer like a sauce, custard, etc. The heat was just too high and intense. Although we did find out at a later date how to reduce the flow of gas to the rings by removing the corresponding control knob for each burner and if you look at the 11 o'clock position at the base of the control knob, there is a small flat head screw and by adjusting this it is possible to increase/decrease the gas flow to that individual ring. This must be done to all the rings that you wish to adjust. The second issue that we had was that whilst my wife was cooking dinner for our guests, we heard a loud crack sound coming from the kitchen area. On investigation, we could not find the sound of the loud crack, so carried on as normal with the dinner preparation. About half an hour later, whilst my wife was heating up some custard on a low heat, we heard a loud bang and when we investigated the hob had shattered and there were glass fragments scattered 2 to 3 metres from the hob on the surface as well as the floor. Because of the close proximity of the cooked food that my wife had prepared to the hob, we didn't want to take a chance on serving the food to our guests so we had to throw away all the prepared food on the side.It also left my wife visibly upset and shaken as she had been in or around the vicinity of the hob for the best part of 2 - 3 hours prior to it shattering and was purely by chance away from it when it went.I contacted Russell Hobbs Product Care Line and I explained the situation and the lady that answered the call could not be less bothered or sympathetic and just explained that I needed to email pictures and a receipt.I emailed the photos and receipt as requested and asked for an engineer to take out and replace the hob as we had already paid for it to be installed and didn't want to foot the bill for that again. A few days later I received and email stating that they would send a replacement hob and that they didn’t have engineers but I should I arrange and pay my own engineer and that they would reimburse me on emailing a copy of the receipt. After fitting the replacement hob, and after we had disposed of the damaged hob, it was noted that one of the new pan holders was broken and I had to contact Russell Hobb Product Care again to request a replacement pan holder/stand. This was arranged and we are still waiting for the replacement to be sent out at time of writing this review. On emailing the receipt from the engineer I stated that I felt it would be the right thing to be compensated for the inconvenience and distress caused on the day. The lack of cooking facilities for best part of a week waiting for a replacement to be sent. Then the arranging, waiting in all afternoon for the engineer and then having to pay for the engineer again and then wait the 5-10 days for the engineer fees to be refunded (still waiting at time of writing this review). I was informed by Product Care that they would pay the engineer cost but would not provide any form of compensation as per their T&C’s that they kindly sent out to me in that email. I felt this was poor from such a well known, established brand such as Russell Hobbs.Although they resolved the issue, due to the inconvenience caused, stress and worry and lack of confidence as to whether it could shatter again, I would advise against buying this hob from Russell Hobb.

Hob Not Fit For Purpose
The burners' flames are set far too high as a result it is impossible to simmer. We contacted Russell Hobbs who said they would send an engineer. They then said that they didn't have one that covered our area so we would need to buy a screwdriver and adjust the gas flow ourselves. The screwdriver must be quite special as we have had two gas safe engineers look at the problem and neither had a screwdriver that fitted. We would like to send the hob back but that means employing a gas safe engineer to disconnect it and to connect a replacement which won't be a Russell Hobbs one.

Excellent value
Very happy with this, it arrived earlier than expected, it is so much better than the one we had that only had 4 burners in a diamond formation, wouldn't recommend one of them, this is sturdy easily put together and easy to install, I would recommend it.
