Work great
What I really need is a spindle sander, but not willing to buy one for occasional use. Instead I bought this inexpensive set, chucked up the appropriate size into my drill press, and finished off a guitar body with nice crisp lines and angles. It would be nice if they gave a lighter grit abrasive as well.

The next best thing to a spindle sander
I paid $18 for this. This kit is fantastic if you don't have a spindle sander. Put it on your drill press, set it to a high RPM, move the table to the side, and go to town. Especially the larger drums are remarkably effective.Keep in mind that this is $18 for about 5 drums and a bunch of sanding sleeves. The quality is very good for that price point. This is obviously not the same as an oscillating spindle sander that costs hundreds of dollars. If you want that, the Ridgid EB4424 is the "industry standard" for a decent amateur-grade spindle sander. If that's not good enough, Laguna makes some nice professional-grade spindle sanders, but I doubt you'd be looking at this kit if you were in that market :-)The only downside of this kit is that the arbor of the smallest drum is very thin, and it's pretty easy to snap it if you push against it too hard. The kit is cheaper than a set of replacement sanding sleeves, so I just buy a whole new kit when the old one is worn out.

Works awesome!
It works phenomenal. I can't afford a spindle sander right now and this is a great replacement. Funny thing, I ordered this in 2019 and except for assembly hadn't actually used it until today end of 2023. Was super glad to see it sanding a contour on a piece of melamine in a brilliant way. I'm ordering another.

Poor Quality
I bought this in hopes of using it on a drill press to make some saddle hangers for a dust collector. In using the smallest one, the shaft bent after using it a couple of times. I reached out to BigHornCorp.com twice and never did get a response about replacement parts. In fairest to Big Horn, I may have been putting too much force when sanding the corners, but I don''t believe so.Do to the lack of response from Big Horn, I wouldn't buy this product again.

Gets the job done, just mind the cut size
This is certainly a good product. I only used a 1" drum so far, but see no reason why other sizes should be not as good.Drum expands evenly, so the cut is of even diameter across the whole length. It may not be obvious what sandpaper rolls are of what grit - they are labeled on the inside, open plastic wrap to find out.You need to mind actual cut sizes you end up with: dimensions given on packaging are for the drums, sandpaper roll adds about 1/8" in diameter, and wobble of an extension shaft the chuck is sitting on may add even more space. I had to use a chuck with a hex shank and an extension, driven by an impact driver because a drill was too wide to get where I wanted, and this definitely contributed to a wider than desired cut. Here is a product improvement suggestion to Big Horn: make shanks of the drums at least an inch longer, that will help maneuver drums if chuck/drill size is an obstacle.

Be informed before you buy
Don't be put off by the headline too much, I'll be as honest as I can. I just received this today, and thought I'd try it's weakest link, the 1/2" spindle. Like Dave said, back in Aug of 2019, the 1/2" spindle's shaft bent as soon as rotation was put to it. But this is only one of four, although I really could have used this one...The rest of them have a much larger shaft to them, so I really don't foresee these bending the same way. The problem with the 1/2" could have been solved by using a larger screw for the shaft, which is something I may end up doing, drilling out the spindle rubber and using a bigger screw.Damn, bet you guys over at Big Horn wish you had me on your development crew!!Anyway, if you don't have a great need for a 1/2" spindle, or if you don't minf goiung through tthe effort, good set, but knowing what I know now.... I wouldn't buy this again, nor will I buy anything from ToolOrbit again. The beginning of this is observation, the last paragraph was my review, my comment about not buying from ToolOrbit again... was my truth.

Just what I needed
This is exactly what I needed for a small project. I don't have the space for a dedicated sander, but I do have a drill press. I was able to get it set up and working in just a couple of minutes. After reading some of the reviews here, I checked the sleeves on all of the mandrels and all of them fit and tightened fine. The one negative I found was that the hole in my drill press plate is not big enough for the drums to fit down in. I used a block of wood to rest my work piece on. I am planning to take a block of wood and drill a large hole in the center for the largest drum to fit and bolt that to the drill press plate so I can lower the drum just below the sanding surface.
