Trucks Board book – January 14, 2014

Originally, I had checked this book out from the library, but my 2-year-old grandson loved it so much I finally broke down and bought it. (I got tired of checking it out and renewing it!!) My toddler-age grand kids enjoy looking at the pictures and listening to the rhyming descriptions of various types trucks, such as moving vans, snow plows, garbage trucks, pick-up trucks, etc. The drawings are attractive and detailed just enough to keep their interest. Although the trucks are operated by human-like cats, instead of people, the pictures are not overly "cute" and seem to draw the kids into the action.In fact, I am surprised at the amount of conversation the drawings generate. The kids like to talk about what is going on in each picture and what might happen next. For example, the moving van will have to get the doors shut so that the furniture will not fall out, why there is a ladder on the camper, why the snow plow has chains on its tires, but the fire truck doesn't ("If there was snow, would the fire truck have chains?"), etc. We have been reading this book for about 6+ months now, but the kids still ask me to read it to them.

Our 2 year old loves trucks and likes this book.
