Music of the Night: A Gothic Romance (Tower Knights)

Beauty and the Beast-esque
I enjoyed everything about this, but the writing style kept taking me out of the story. The choice of vocab was kinda of try hard. The repeated sentence structure was annoying and I kept rolling my eyes. And I kept cringing at the word “nay” instead of no.Example: “A sound caught my ear. A musical note, nay a tune sung by a man?”See… like, why? This seems like a negative review, but I actually really liked this story. It was very gothic and atmospheric. I wanted to know what was next, what was causing all the deaths, etc. It also reminded me of Beauty and the Beast because Uriah is scared and Aria is described as beautiful.

Gothic romance and spicy fantasy
An exquisite gothic romance fantasy in the vein of The Phantom of the Opera. Full of wonder, magic, steamy scenes, mystery, tension, and music.

Surprised me
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story. The author did an amazing job creating a variation of the story we know and have grown to love. I can’t wait to read more of their works.

pretty good
A sort of retelling of the phantom of the opera, with a cool twist and mystery to solve. I liked our main characters, even though I wish their relationship had been more developed. I enjoyed this book.

Great compelling story!!
This was the first gothic romance I have read in years. The story is compelling from the start. It has a Phantom of the opera feel and a taste of beauty and the beast with a twist! Loved the tale to the very end. The love story within these pages will be remembered for many years to come. Get a copy! Enjoy!

Decent (minor spoiler)
It was decent, started of slow then it. started to pull me in. I would have loved some POV chapters of Count Zorik, even if we didn't know it was him and it was listed as a mysterious someone that was later revealed. I also would have liked some backstory of Count Zorik. Ultimately, I feel his character could have been better developed even if he is the antagonist or whatnot. I wish there was more backstory of Uriah, it was vague and the awaited reveal at the end was sub par. Also, I wish the ending was longer and tied up some loose ends like, if Samara joined them, what happened to Madame Blu, did she survive? Also is Aria immortal or not. The ending seemed rushed and ultimately kinda fell flat for me. Lastyly, I wished she disgraced her complexion and stuff more, as she is a black woman. In white novel they make sure u know and remember the damsel is white, saying things like "alabaster skin" "rosy cheeks and "taut pink n*pples" u just wish there was more of that, not too much but balanced, at times i forgot Aria is supposed to be a black character! Ultimately, I would give it 2.7 starts but I cant so rounding up to 3 it is.

very middle of the road
This book was okay. It’s not bad but I did have a few issues with it. I’ll start with the writing. The writing isn’t bad per-say it’s just kind of cheesy like it lays on the melodramatic historical tone really thick. It’s also kind of repetitive. If you took a shot every time they say music or magic you’d be de*d. Also, the stakes just didn’t feel very high for me so the plat fell flat. The plot didn’t feel urgent or intense and I didn’t really care what happened regardless. The chemistry between the two leads also felt kind of forced, like of course they’re going to be together. I think that they just had nothing really binding them together except for their proximity to each other but they didn’t have real chemistry. Also the author uses every word under the sun to say p**sy during the sex scenes and that was more cringe than just saying the word. Like please spare us. Despite all I have to say about it this is a decent book. It’s not bad and the premise is solid it’s just a really middle of the road book. Read this if your just in between books and want something to just chill through but don’t expect much.

Music of the Night
A play on The Phatom of the Opera my one and only favorite "musical."I was so happy when I came across this book, seeing the cover I automatically fell in love with the characters without even opening the book.Aria comes from the similar background as Christine, she finds herself working hard to accomplish her goals. As she is trying to make a better life for herself, she finds herself swept up in the music of the night. I truly loved the character development between Aria and Uriah our Phantom. As the story line plays through and Aria comes upon the mysterious tower playing the seductive of enchanting music she finds the Phantom/ghost of the haunted tower Uria. As their relationship as Master and apprentice grows into more, we are all taken on this long journey of passion, secrets, darkness and mystery. With deaths plauging the theater, Uria and Aria's relationship growing every session, the passion of music helps lift the dark atmosphere hanging over their homes.I truly loved the storyline, the characters passion and the mystery that unraveled. I'm so glad I cam across this book, one of my favorite reads of 2021.

4.5 stars
This surprised me, I didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did. I managed to read it in one sitting because it was so gripping, and it was full of drama and passion, and it was so romantic. Really enjoyed this!

Presupposti buoni, esecuzione scadente—@thatshortwriter on IG

Amazing!
I absolutely loved Music of the night! Music of the night is an alluring and seductive retelling. It's a well-written, fast-paced short story. I definitely recommend it if you like short stories.
