My cat loves this food! It slimmed her down and now maintains her weight really well.

We tried this food on a whim to help our cats lose/maintain weight, and were pleasantly surprised! We've been buying it a few months now to keep the cats on their regimen because since feeding them the Fat Cats food, we noticed our overweight girl has dropped a few pounds and has become a lot more energetic and active! We think the weight loss has helped her have more energy to play, which makes this food worth its weight in gold to us! It's a little grainy, but the cats don't seem to mind

My Tasha who is part snowshoe & part main coon. Tasha tho weighed in at 28 pounds last yea. She is 4 yrs old. I began giving her a half can of canned food each evening & I started watching her ingredients in the dry food I feed her. After all she is at my mercy what I bring to her to eat. She is not a big eater, which is the strange part I began giving her this food about 3 months ago. I took her to the vet & Im pleased to say she dropped 4 POUNDS!! I was so happy with those results!!! I don’t want her to be diabetic & need shots!!! I’m pleased she lost this weight!! I absolutely say it was this food!! Nothing else has changed except this dry food!!! She has a lot of fluff so it’s hard to tell she has lost it but the vet says she HAS. & she is doing well & to keep doing what I’m doing & that she needs to still lose more so I’m going to stay on it. She seems to really like the taste of it & the fact it has more protein & she is losing that weight & getting healthier. I’m very happy. It costs a bit more for this food but it’s worth it. I feel the ingredients are great & it’s cheaper on Amazon at least at the location near me , at Pet Smart.

Like almost all dry cat food, it's loaded with carbohydrates and salt.Sure, my cat loved these but she would eat all of her bowl as fast as possible and actually gained about 5 pounds.I had to take her off this and give her wet food and she lost the weight. This particular brand was recommended by our veterinarian.However, whenever I can't get my little kitty to come downstairs, all I have to do is shake the bag (I kept it in case of emergencies where I can't get any food) and she comes RUNNING downstairs as fast as possible. Then, I give her 'some' because that's mean to do that without giving the food.The issue is the salt and carbohydrates are basically all this is. Imagine if you ate potato chips only for every single meal. You'd love them too but would gain weight.

I have two cats a nibbler and a gobbler. This keeps the both within weight tolerances and stops my nibbler indoor-outdoor from thinking we are starving also and need help getting food.

My cat needs to lose 2 lbs. I tried Royal Canin weight management and it caused him to gain 0.75 lbs. I switched him to Fat Cat and he seems content with only having 1/2 a cup day, and no longer begs for food. Within a month of starting Fat Cat he lost 0.25 lb. I feed my other cat Natural Balance Indoor via a Surefeed microchip feeder. He does not try to steal the Fat Cat from the chonker's bowl, so it might not taste as good as the higher fat Indoor food, but chonker was not losing weight on the Indoor variety. This past week my husband made a mistake and was feeding chonker the Indoor food. Chonker started whining for food each night and was getting through his 1/2 cup a few hours earlier than he has been with the Fat Cat. Then I figured out what happened (the food switch), so that was enough to prove to me that chonker has better satiety with the Fat Cat, so the 160 calories of Fat Cat is enough for him, whereas the 160 cal of Indoor left him still really hungry. The vet said that getting a cat to lose weight is very hard and will take 6 months, so we will use Fat Cat for as long as it takes.

Going with the marketing of this product, I tried it in an attempt to get my cat to lose some weight. Cat was already eating controlled portion of dry food before that. We went through 2 large bags of this food - I stopped when my cat started to have a bit of blood in the litter box. He had a dozen urinary stones - which thankfully were able to disintegrated naturally using a prescribed high acidic canned food for a month or so, but after that I moved him to a canned food diet as the dry food simply wasn't allowing him to get enough water despite the numerous fresh water bowl around the apartment (I have now learned that cats are not really used to drink water separately from their food, they would typically get their moisture directly with their food). When I started him on the wet food (mixed with free dried chicken bits so it became palatable to him), he stopped vomiting completely, something that he was doing once in a while on dry food, but even more often on this specific product. Oh and he didn't lose any weight under this food. I've become more educated on species appropriate food for cat after the urinary stones and vomiting incident and now realized how much carbohydrates (what makes it possible to give the kibble format) and bad quality proteins dry food have in general. I'm a bit ashamed of the poor nutrition I have been giving my cat - I certainly want him to leave as much as long and happy years he can get. I don't recommend this specific product, and also dry food in general.

One of 2 cats will eat this food. They are outdoor kitties that are fed daily they are way too fat. Looking for ways to trim them down. Will continue to offer
