Raw pumpkin seeds make an excellent addition to a garden salad.
Like many people who have written a review about Bob's Red Mill Pumpkin Seeds, I was delighted to find that they come from the USA -- Oregon, to be exact, as taken from Bob's site on the Internet. Pumpkins are native to North America so I am at a loss to know why we have to go to China for them, but the sad fact is that everywhere I go I find pumpkin seeds from China. What I found on the Internet is that 95% of the pumpkin seeds on grocery store shelves are grown in China. Labeling laws make it possible to hide this fact by importing raw product and processing it in the U.S.Bob's pumpkin seeds are raw and we find this information on the Internet: "From a total health perspective, like many fruits and vegetables, it is better to eat raw pumpkin seeds than roasted pumpkin seeds." The benefits of raw pumpkin seeds are many, including: "needed heart healthy magnesium, zinc for immune support, omega three fats, prostate health, anti-diabetic effects, heart and liver health, tryptophan for restful sleep, and anti-inflammatory benefits.Pumpkin seeds are health food at its best and Bob's taste good, particularly when put on top of my evening salad. The seeds give a nice crunch to the rest of the vegetables in the salad. When I get the tightly packed cellophane package of seeds, I immediately put them in a large glass jar and store them in the refrigerator for safe keeping. They stay refrigerated until the few moments when they are sprinkled onto the salad, then back in the refrigerator. They keep well for as long as we need them before reordering, which is about once a month.I have occasionally bought the roasted and salted pumpkin seeds from China in the supermarket and I must admit, for a snack food, these taste better. The roasting and salting bring out the special flavor of the seeds, but I am not willing to lose the nutritional value of the raw American grown seeds that Bob's supplies. I like them and recommend them.

Good quality and large bag
I have been using pumpkin seeds in my salads and yogurt for about a year now. I have been buying these small size containers at the grocery story and kept running out. I tried these Bob's Red Mill Pumpkin Seeds in the 24 oz bag and love them. The bag is nice and big, the seeds are great, there are some smaller broken pieces but not much, probably will be more towards the bottom of the bag when I get there. I also know Bob's Red Mill is a brand I can trust, so I liked getting these and knowing they are good quality and that this bag is large and I won't have to buy more for a while.

Grown in USA and/or Mexico
In the July 2015, my seeds came with back label #3521 and UPC 39978 00432 that read "Product of USA." This summer, Bob's Red Mill web site has a new bag with UPC code 39978 01432 and no country of origin. I wrote them and they responded that the seeds were from the "USA and/or Mexico." Seeds were OK.

I enjoy BRM products
I enjoy BRM products. The pumpkin seeds tasted off. Not all, just a few. But enough to make it so I question whether or not I should buy again. I've only purchased this item once. I did try roasting them, as well and it didn't make a difference. Maybe just an off pumpkin made it's way in the production.I still trust BRM & would buy again before I make a stern decision one way or the other to purchase a third time.

Yippee for USA grown pumpkin seeds!
I discovered that in my 'hunt' for pumpkin or 'pepita' seeds that a lot of them are from China. I just didn't understand why someone in North America couldn't grow these?? I emailed Bob's Red Mill and the customer service department got back to me quickly with a reply to let me know that they grow them here in the US. :-) I like to support our local farmers if at all possible! These are of good quality as I find with most of Bob's Red Mill Brand! Thanks!

the best pumpkin seeds on the market
By far, the best pumpkin seeds on the market. The texture and taste cannot be beat and I have tried many brands. Though they are expensive, this product is worth every penny and I will continue to purchase them. Bob's Red Mill never disappoints me in any product that I have ever purchased. Thank you for yet another great product.

Meh...
I have used Bob's Red Mill products for years...with happy results. These seeds...not so much. While I really love the fact that they were not from China, they were really tiny, did not pop up as well as some...lots of broken pieces. Taste was just OK. I do not think I will buy them again.

Taste fresh
Organic. Raw. Pumpkin seeds. Nothing more need be said here. There were a number of fragmented seeds--maybe about 5 percent. For me this is not a problem.
