The REDS Racing R5RGT 5-Port GT Rally .21 On Road Engine has been developed specifically for 1/8 GT Class racing. Mario Rossi used the R5R 2.0 buggy engine as the base, then altered the tuning and shimming as needed to allow the engine to create the power needed for the necessary corner exit power, while still allowing incredibly fast top speeds. Built using the same crankcase and crankshaft as REDS's 1/8th R line engines, the GT series features class specific timing, a 5-port liner and a 7mm venturi insert to comply with the class rules. The R5RGT uses the same low profile cooling head as the buggy edition, with an updated cooling system that has a good impact on fuel consumption and reliability.
