The Future of America and You!
It kills me to spend what I do on Woodpecker stuff. But where’s the number two provider? Anyone? Everything else is a hodgepodge of knickknack tools. Some good, most just ok. Haven’t been innovative in a century. Then there’s Woodpecker. These folks kick some serious ass when they have me excited to spend 100 bucks or more on a square! Oh and on a triangle square that’s just 3” or so. Plus I’d do it again! It’s nuts! But the stuff is of the quality you will give to your kids at some point. The accuracy is beyond reproach, and these #%^% innovate! Or do a great job of advancing an old design. Either way, show me who’s in their rear view mirror? NOBODY! Why? Well add up the cost of the world’s most advanced and biggest automated robotic CNC platform. Multiply that by say....8-10 of them. Then go build a building to put it all in. In the USA! Hire American’s and train them to operate said equipment. Then after all that, keep giving them a different product to manufacture every month!! Are you kidding me? That’s high stakes stuff!Time to put your actions where you flipping “buy American” rhetoric is. Dewalt, Milwaukee, Craftsman, Porter Cable, Kreg, Rigid, Stanley, and the rest, are nothing more than local badging on product from China, Korea, Vietnam, etc. At least Festool is German, says they are German, and sets the bar on quality! Plus they are as American as the companies I listed. Festool USA!So get out your wallet, and go buy stuff from Woodpecker. It’s an investment in American quality that nobody can touch. It’s what America is all about, and if everyone gets onboard, the prices get better, and they build more and more. It’s the future of trade tools. This is the train, and in the long run it’s the cheapest tools you will buy, because your will buy it ONCE, use it with efficiency, and have it forever. As opposed to now when you buy a cheap harbor freight tool. Struggle with making it work for months till it screws up your projects and finally breaks as you are chasing a deadline. What does that cost?!!! Then you will buy a mediocre China/American flagged product.... Look, the best the big box stores sell is garbage. They don’t know accuracy or precision. You will never have a day where you look down at the woodpecker tool in your hand and say; “Damn, I wish I had that old crappy inaccurate embarrassing tool, So I could get frustrated all day, and get home late, because my foreman wasn’t happy with my work”. Just man up, invest in yourself, your future, Woodpecker, and AMERICA!!!! It’s one decision you can tell your grandchildren about! The day you invested in you, and The future of our country. I’m proud of you already!Go forward and build!

A really slick solution to a problem I didn't realize I had...
I got this to go with the Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking 24-inch Ruler after seeing a YouTuber using it in his shop. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've needed to measure and mark a piece of wood that already has a square, straight edge to measure from. With the Hook Stop on the end of the ruler, I can accurately measure from the exact edge of the cut without having to bother getting out a pocket square to ensure I'm holding the ruler 90º to the edge when making the measurement. If I didn't do that, and my "calibrated eyeball" was off by a few degrees, the resulting measurement would be off a bit, leading to a "sloppy" fit. With the Hook Stop, that's a thing of the past, because it allows you to line up square to the edge of the cut - every time. It's a small thing, but the fact that it's always on the ruler encourages accuracy in all measurements, which leads to better quality projects. Like all Woodpeckers tools, it seems overpriced to me, but once again, I find myself liking the product an awful lot...

Another Woodpeckers quality product.
Simply a great product. This hook stop ensures the measurements are made from the end/edge of whatever is being measured. Tolerance stack-up is always a concern when building anything. The hook stop eliminates one of the potential sources of stack-up.I'm 59 years old and have been working with wood most of my life. A few years ago I decided to make the investment in a Woodpeckers ruler. I am so glad I did. They make great tools.Over the last few years I've purchased more of their products and have been 100% satisfied with everything I bought. Their prices seem to be high until you actually put your hands on their tools and start using them. They are designed for woodworkers and manufactured with very tight tolerances. They are also made with longevity in mind. I'll have these tools the rest of my life. I use them with confidence and pride.Another thing I REALLY enjoy is they are made here in the USA by Americans. In summary, their tools are a little costly, but they are WELL worth it.

Hard—but not impossible—to use to be accurate
As another reviewer pointed out already, there is not enough surface area to be confident about accuracy. The rule will move if you so much as breathe on it, so you must be extra, extra careful when using this especially with the longer rules. I am using one on a 1257mm Woodpeckers rule, and they should have made this a little wider. It will get the job done, however, so long as you do whatever it takes—and take however long it takes—to use it accurately. That might even mean using clamps and checking for square before drawing your line(s).

Ya you'll want this
I bought 2 Woodpeckers hook tool stop. I attached them to the 2 rules I have my 12" & 24". It really speeds up the process when measuring my projects. It has a nice slim profile with the rule. With the hook stops attached to my rulesI can still turn them on their side to check the flatness of a board. They are built with the same material as the rules, real easy to attach and lined up perfectly with the edge of the wood. You can stop reading other reviews now and make the purchase. No really, just tell your wife that I said it was ok! Oh wait a minute, your wife doesn't know my wife does she? Sorry buddy you're on your own.
