Good Jack but Not Perfect
Update: I was able to turn the jack 180 degrees so that there is no more tailgate interference, & jack works flawlessly. Happy about that! 2 minor disappointments are; cannot use the rigid factory propane cover any longer as the jack interferes with that, so will have to go with a soft cover. Secondly, the light from the jack no longer shines where it should, but it should still be halfway decent in the dark. Two minor issues in the big picture!Overall satisfied.Haven’t used it much other than at home so far, so I will update this review.I am hugely disappointed in the fact that this thing is designed for trailers, which are more than likely connected to a pickup truck, but Lippert has failed to figure out that once connected to the tow vehicle one cannot lower the tailgate because this jack is too bulky and interferes with the tailgate!!Where is quality control & design management???There are many online thread discussions in regards to this, so I will see if I can rearrange the jack so that it will be practical. PRACTICALLY should be key for people who design things. We own a pickup truck with a canopy, & tow a travel trailer. We have dogs in a kennel in the bed of our truck. We typically make rest stops along our routes for the dogs & ourselves. If we cannot lower the tailgate, because the new jack we installed interferes, it’s very difficult to let 80lb+ dogs out to pee.It is also difficult to load the bed of our truck to go camping when the tailgate will not go down due to interference with our new jack! Will update soon after I spend my valuable time trying to redesign what should be an already flawlessly designed product...

Quiet operation, simple install, can not open my tailgate.
Bought on Prime Day for 40% off I believe. It was on my short list of replacement jacks for my 24ft bumper pull RV, so that made my decision easy. Install is as straightforward as you would guess. 3 bolts and a power wire. My original Jack died on me and was old enough the label was missing, sorry I can’t tell you for comparison. The Lippert is slightly slower, but MUCH quieter. My two complaints; First, the foot mounting hole runs front to back, and my “Fastway” folding foot (red part in picture) mounts side to side like most jacks. So I had to drill my own hole. Secondly, the head of the Jack where the controls are is larger than my old Jack. So as pictured, my tailgate does not open while hooked to the RV. As someone that has been dragging trailers since I was 15, HUGE pet-peeve! I’m not unhappy with my purchase especially for what I paid. It did push me to spend more money upgrading to a BulletProof hitch set up to get my trailer further from my truck.

Easy to install
I am glad I made this purchase. I was banging my arm up using the manual that came with my camper. The first trip with this and I can say my arms and back are much happier. It makes lifting to put equalizer bars on soooo much easier!

3 bolts and installed in 30 minutes
Bought this to replace a tired one on my 38’ TT.After removing the old, it was three bolts to install. Used some wire ties (not included) to secure the single wire lead to the loom and crimped on a 3/8” eye for the termination block. Start to finish was 30 minutes and included clean up.Tailgate clearance was not an issue but I have a weight distribution hitch so it’s a longer drawbar.

Some Issues
Recommendation…pick something different. When I ordered, I hit the “buy all three” option (Jack, 7/2 truck power cord, and the cover). I bought this Jack because it was the right weight rating and I liked the idea of the 7/2 power from the truck.Pros:- Easy to install👍- It raises and lowers the camper👍Cons:-Like other reviews my came out of the box with a cracked motor housing👎- Like other reviews, you can’t lower the tailgate without hitting the housing 👎-The 2/7 feature doesn’t work. I checked voltages, then had to rewire the plug (easy fix), verified the voltages with a meter and this feature does NOT work. 👎- It did work when I wired it to the camper battery, but I selected this jack for the 7/2 feature that doesn’t work 👎- Extremely slow raise/lower. 👎 That said, it beats hand cranking a heavy front toy hauler camper.Buy something different, there are plenty of options available.

Awesome jack
This is an awesome product. The added feature of safety chain and electrical plug storage is fantastic. The electrical plug won't get filled with dirt it insect nests anymore. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because it is slow. This is the first electric jack I have owned so maybe all electric hacks are like this, I don't know, either way it is still better than cranking by hand.

Good Option for Lippert Jacks
Definitely a great feature, especially in Canada. Yes the quality of the plug is quite poor but does the job. In colder climate, like Canada etc, you remove your batteries for the season. With power jack installed the only way to move the trailer would be a battery or manual overwrite. So having a plug straight from your truck / SUV is a great option to move the trailer even when your batteries are dead or removed.Lots of reviews says that this will not work with certain Ford Trucks. This is correct. The wiring in the plug is universal and fits most of the trucks.Took me over an hour troubleshooting and finally got to the conclusion. The difference between ford and other 7 pin plugs is that Ford activates 12V pin(and that's where positive end on the cable is wired to) only when it sense some load on the system. So when you connect this plug to the jack, it will not work as the jack does not have static load like your electric brakes would do for example.Took me some troubleshooting. Ford 7 pin socket will always power the pin for running lights. But for some reason, the cord must be wired opposite to common sense, so the only way it properly works on Ford is: Ground to the running light pin & positive to the negative pin in the plug. Not sure why, but works like a charm this way (make sure your lights are on)l otherwise you will waste some time on it to.So bottom line - more information from lippert would be nice, it's easy to open this plug and change the wires (only two inside) and it definitely makes the experience way more pleasant!
