No box, but it all worked
You can tell they made this years ago, because the DVD menus and video quality. Otherwise it’s really good. How to approach and meet puppy was the most interesting to me, as I would have done the completely wrong thing before watching this.

Classic Cesar!!
These videos do a very effective and efficient presentation of Caesars essential concepts. Much easier to watch these than the hundreds of episodes where each may only have one or two points.Beware though —> I ordered this item on two different occasions, and both products arrived without the “box“, just the DVDs, which thankfully were factory sealed at least. Be aware of that this “boxed set“ two out of two times came without the box. I decided not to fight it and just move on. My working theory is that Amazon is increasingly trying to pass off onto its customers their returned or scuffed items to whom “new“ isn’t as important. As easy as they make it to return things, seems natural for them to have a whole bunch of these things laying around that they need to pass on. I for one don’t appreciate having secondhand items passed to me, for the record.

Does not really show you much
I watch the Dog Whisperer and these DVDs are just parts of the show. I only give it 3 stars, because I think Victoria Stillwell shows dog owners how to do something with your dog and I've learned more from her book than I have from these DVDs.Cesar Milan's training style is old-school, where there is not a lot of positive reinforcement with treats. He uses choke collars too - which most trainers will tell you are unnecessary. This is probably debatable because some of the dogs he trains are not responding to positive reinforcements by other trainers. So I do think there is a place for his training methods. I think his training methods are appropriate for dogs who need more than a conventional trainer will provide. The things I have taken from this video are:You need to be the pack leader. This is also a message by all trainers - except Cesar Milan takes it to the extreme. It is important to be a leader for your dog. He makes fun of people who talk to their dogs and treat them like family members. As long as the dog listens to his/her owners, and are not getting mixed messages, it is ok to show affection to your pet. Cesar certainly shows little affection to any of his dogs. If you watch the Westminster Dog Show, many of the handlers kiss their dogs before and after their run and are affectionate. These are dogs showing off their best. So - affection is ok.We need to send clear messages to our dogs. This ties in with being a pack leader. Cesar uses no language to get dogs to do things, but he uses intimidation and an annoying "CH CH" sound. It is ok to use words like "come", "sit", etc., as long as it correlates to the action and result you are trying to achieve. That there are really no bad dogs, but bad owners. Most of the habits are because the owner is not being a pack leader or spending time with their dogs to train them correctly. They do not exercise their dogs by going for walks, playing with them, or setting clear boundaries.I do think some of the dogs he rehabilitates in this video series and his tv show, need the stronger interventions he uses. However, I do not think his methods are appropriate for many dogs and especially puppies. Secondly, you, as a dog owner, should not try his methods. Seek professional help first for your dog. Get an evaluation from a professional. You could create more damage to your dog by not seeking professional advice. You should always try positive methods first. There are many good training videos out there. Some good videos are:Train Your Dog: the Positive Gentle method. It's Pawsable.Do your homework. Do what is right for your dog, and try positive training methods first. Your dog wants to please you and needs to be shown how to do things. The first year is crucial. Do it with positive and gentle reinforcement and spend the time to do it, and you will not need someone like Cesar Milan to intervene.

Raising a dog a repectful way
Cesar is easy to understand and has a way with understanding the dog. His leadership training is key for stubborn and seemingly hopeless dogs. Incredible results in extremely short time. Had our dogs working with us superbly in only 3 days. Off leash walks in 2 weeks. Incredible results for 2 year old SPCA rescue dogs that would not take a collar or leash when we picked them up.

The DVDs don’t work.
I would give ZERO stars if I could. I am beyond disappointed. My kids (ages 3 & 7) have been obsessed with Cesar Milan since we went and picked out our two shih tzu puppies a couple of weeks ago. They have been watching his YouTube videos and Cesar 911. We have been listening to his Puppy Training audiobook together. Needless to say, we were all a little excited to receive the DVDs. We were all soooo disappointed when the 1st DVD didn’t work. I tried the 2nd one in the set. That didn’t work either. I tried my 4K player, my regular blu-ray player, my old DVD player, my Microsoft Surface, our portable DVD players, and the PS4. I didn’t bother opening movies 3 through 6. What’s the point. I also had to “request” to return it (I have never experienced that with Amazon returns before). Still waiting to hear from the vendor. I would like my $79.99 back. I’m not paying for blank DVDs. I advise against purchasing from this vendor.

Good info
I wish I had this before I got my puppy. Cesar is great with dogs and does teach you some interesting points. We learned alot from the DVD's. I used to watch it on TV when I had cable. It is organized. The first two DVD's have alot of filler materal. The last four DVD's are more interesting and pertinent. We have already noticed a change in my pup. It's also good in that you can go back and re-watch certain parts. It's important to point out that he still strongly recommends to get the help of a trainer. Sometimes he does not fully explain what he's doing. He just stands there quietly and I'm not sure what his intentions are. But otherwise, a good learning tool.
