Love and marriage at harpers
Love this type of book, easy reading when I can’t sleep at night and when I just need something simple to read. Nice little story lines in this authors (Rosie Clarke) books.

Lovely book
I am really enjoying these Harper's books. I like that the characters and storyline is woven around the happenings at that time, women's sufferage, the titanic and of course whispers of the war to come. I'm looking forward to book 3. Thank you Rosie Clarke

Good storyline
The books in this series are, for the main part, enjoyable to read. However there is a lot of repetition of inane facts such as how many red scarves were sold etc. It also repeats things in lots of the pages, a bit like a pupil trying to write so many words in an essay. It does make you want to know what happens next so for that reason I'll carry on in the series

The story continues....
So the "girls" all have a story and there is of course love, romance and marriage. Also a hint of the bounder that I suspected in book one. It makes the books more interesting. Km enjoying them, better than just run of the mill romances as these have the background of the department store in them.I like all the characters and am looking forward to the next book. ☺️Highly recommended.

Enjoyable
The Harper girl have settled now. Sally in now the Buyer for their department. Love is in the air for all the girls too. Sadness for Beth as her aunt is taken in by an evil con man with disastrous outcome.

The lives of the girls and women who work at Harpers around World War II.
A cozy step back in time when the nations were still recovering from World War I and World War II was looming on the horizon. The women who worked at to perfume, make-up, and hat counters were called “Harpers’ girls” , and proud of it. The store had high expectations of them and took good care of its girls. The stories of their lives and quiet adventures bring smiles to the readers’ faces as they enjoy learning about the Harpers’ girls’ lives. I always look forward to new Rosie Clarke books, and read them with a smile on my face.
