Too strong for its size.
This hinge is solid and well made. The friction is such that even heavy objects will stay in place easily. The strength of that hold, however, is also the biggest drawback. This is a very small hinge and it has very small mounting holes. As a result, can only use very small screws for mounting. I found that the force required to rotate the hinge would rip the screws right out of the surface to which they were mounted, even if I used the biggest hardware I could find that would still fit in the mounting holes.In the end I was able to make this work by using small bolts with washers on the far side of the wood I was mounting to, but that required drilling right through my surface and having a clearly visible nut and washer on the other side. That setup wasn't what I needed for my application, but that might be perfectly acceptable for your project.If you are OK with using bolts and nuts/washers, then this hinge should work fine for you. If you are hoping to mount this using screws, be warned that I found this hinge to be too powerful for its small size.
