Q: After I patch a hole, is it strong enough that I can drill a hole and put a screw through it?

I would not drill into this and use it as a patch only. If you need to use the area to drill, I would patch with a section of new drywall... But this is a great option for patching a large hole.

Q: Dear Manufacturer, is this an actual metal plate with mesh over it? I can’t tell based on the pictures.

I believe it is all metal mesh. It worked well for me in a wall patch.

Q: What kind of sandpaper is needed?

Hi, I was very pleased with the patches. I had a pitbull eat several holes in my wall. I do a lot of miniature hobby displays so I'm pretty good with spackle. I sanded the patches by hand as I wanted to be sure nothing showed through and used a fine grit. I have a belt and orbital sander as well as the dremel max which sands but I saw no appreciable benefit in time to using them for such small areas and from experience the risk of taking off too much is a real risk. I hope this helps. I would certainly use them again unless it is a small dent or some screw holes where I need to cut the patches to an exact size. Thanks, John
