Saitek (J61) P880_Dual Analog Pad

Buttons are laid out terribly. The pause button right on top of the No#3 button. If you are use to any of the PS controllers, X-Box controllers. DO NOT BUY THIS. Way too hard to get use to the new button config.

The Saitek P880 is one of the best gamepads I've used over the years. It's sturdy and lightweight and I have never once had a problem with it. I bought a second one so I would not have to switch them between computers.

I understood that this was a used product at the time of purchase. I didn't expect to receive something with stains and gunk all over it. I had to thoroughly clean the entire controller before using it. One of the trigger buttons is rather sticky and doesn't quite work properly.

The directional control broke after a few months of use. The button configuration is cumbersome because there are only two triggers and six closely spaced buttons. There are only eight programable buttons for Madden 2005 instead of the necessary ten. The price is right if you want to buy a new controller every few months.

I have been on a mission for months to build an emulation rig in my living room. The absolute NIGHTMARE of a problem that I've been having since day 1 has been finding good controllers for N64 games. This controller is the single best option I have tried after much experimentation and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it for N64 emulators.Why?1) 6 buttons on the face means you can map the controls basically 1 : 1 from the original controller design. This is an absolute MUST because alternate control schemes on 4-button controllers force your hands into really awkward positions in some combinations. Having 6 buttons on the face also means that you don't have to create a different controller mapping for each game - can you just map it 1 : 1 and be done with it without making and switching tons of profiles.2) Beautifully linear response on the analog sticks means games play EVEN BETTER than using original first-party controllers or any knock-off 3rd party N64 controller brands. Wonderful for shooters and platformers. Full range of motion allows for Zelda and Smash Bros moves to be perfectly responsive. Sneaking in platformers works perfectly. The smooth motion of the stick means it's easier to get gradual changes in tile versus the 1st-party controller which tends to "jump" between positions on the stick jerkily.Finding a controller with good analog sticks AND 6 buttons on the face has been the single biggest challenge. This controller soldiers through BOTH of those problems beautifully!The only reason I can't justify a 5-star rating is because the shoulder buttons aren't very sensitive. I tend to map the Z trigger to the L shoulder button on this controller. The result is 99% of the way there but be wary that the shoulder buttons are HUGE (they take up the entire curvature of the controller and go backwards probably half an inch). They're flimsy but functional. They're satisfactory and work nicely in games but if I had to nitpick I'd wish they were tight and quick like the first-party Z and R buttons.A 5-star controller in my mind would be a 1st-party N64 controller with this analog stick. Yes, it's that good.This controller is larger than I expected, which I feel is a good thing! The grips are roomy and this controller is great for adult-sized hands.I'm ordering 3 more of these and using these as my go-to for N64 emulation builds! FINALLY, A controller that fits the bill! It's been quite a ride to find one but it does exist. Here it is!

i had purchased a gravis controller to use for emulators on my laptop. it just didn't cut it. i read some reviews and did my research online and settled on this gamepad. it works perfectly, is comfortable to use and installed easily. i have no complaints. it works really well with my NES emulator. i am now able to enjoy playing ninendo games on my laptop. i would definitely recommend this product.

I ordered the Saitek P880 and received a generic PS2 controller instead, now I have to go buy an adapter. However, I read that the Saitek only has two shoulder buttons so the extra 2 fire buttons replace the 2 shoulder buttons. I was looking for the closest thing to a PS2 controller and I'm too busy to return this piece of crap, so I'm just going to keep it.

The best controller ever. MadCatz should put this one back in production. Saitek software makes this a winner for just about any MMO worth mention. More comfortable to use than any new fangled gaming mouse.
