I was worried, as shipping light bulbs to my house seems like just as bad of an idea as shipping them to the store. I have terrible luck with them breaking- but this came in minimal yet brilliant protective packaging and fine working condition. As promised, the LEDs appear shades of pink and blue. Plants and even my lizard seemed to notice the new light. It definitely puts out way less heat than other grow lights, so that is a huge plus in the summer. LEDs using less power are also a plus. The only negative I found was that I wanted to use one of those college dorm room type twisty point it where you want it looks like a giant cactus with three arms that each hold bulbs type of lamp... but this bulb is was too heavy. The arm immediately went straight down and the whole thing would have tanked on its side had I not grabbed it. So, great light bulbs apparently require sturdy stands. Noted. It doesn't get much easier than this Grow Light. Simply screw it in to a standard lightbulb socket and turn it on. The bulbs are majority red, but there are a few blue lights. The lights are LED so they are cost-effective by comparison to standard bulbs. These are great to sprout seeds to transplant into the garden. After being on a for a bit, the light did not get hot. It may feel warm to the touch, but I don't worry about it burning or damaging seedlings or plants. 12 watt bulb. I received this bulb at a discount.

The place my apartment is located in doesn't allow for much sunlight. My plants were growing, but not very much. After having this in for just 2 weeks they have really sprung up, especially my tomato plant.

I've had this for about 3 days now, and it works as described. It is a very bright light, so I don't recommend this anywhere near the bedroom or anywhere you want it dark. I haven't really seen any improvement in my plants growth, but again I have had it for only 3 days. The light bulb is pretty big, so it won't fit under a regular lamp shade , but if you are using it as a grow light, that shouldn't be a problem at all.
