After a couple trial and errors replacing, it fixed our leaky dishwasher
Our Whirlpool W10632081A that we’ve owned for over 6 years with no previous issues started leaking from underneath it. After an initial inspection we figured the leak was coming from the diverter and viewed some YouTube videos that linked this particular part to purchase and replace. We were grateful this item arrived before the expected delivery date. When we opened the package and realized the size of the new rubber gaskets were taller than the original we were nervous about it but tried replacing anyway. After the first attempt replacing was a failure, it leaked even more than before. I was afraid we would just have to get a new dishwasher. Thankfully I found some comments on the YouTube videos saying they experienced the same exact issues and said to try wrapping the outside of the gasket with Teflon tape 3-4 times and to use some dish soap as lubricant before replacing it. I was hesitant to try because of the difference of size to the original gasket but it was either that or buy a new machine. After trying all the tips and tricks mentioned…AT LAST NO LEAKS!!! So far everything looks good after a couple days of using. Be aware, removing this gasket was the hardest part, a hook tool will make it easier.

Amazing!!!
Exact replacement. Other than the label and some markings you cannot tell the deifference. Grommet was just right too, no pic to compare because the old one came out in pieces. I took the metal spring inside the old grommet and put in the new one and used a dab waterproof grease to make it easy to go in. Also greased the shaft on the diverter. I suspect the lack of lubrication in the factory assembly is what caused this as it’s a very common problem with this model. The dishwasher had a slow leak that went unnoticed until the drip ruined the PCB inside the diverter motor. It worked perfectly. 2 weeks before Christmas saving me a lot of cash on a new dishwasher was a miracle.Whirlpool wdf760sadt2

Still going strong after 2yrs.
Fixed my Whirlpool dishwasher problem of not cleaning the upper rack dishes. Install was easy for experienced DIYer. Likely not recommend for novice. Several goodreplacement DIY YouTube videos available for review. Would recommend.

Knock-off part that will cost you.
Full price Whirlpool part from them is $150. This price ($20)is a red flag. Worked great for 1yr, 8mths until it leaked again. Attached photos show leakage at the seam. Also, corrosion on contacts for the device AND my dishwasher contacts. Last photos of the wiring contacts on my dishwasher were AFTER (I didn’t think to do a review until later) I cleaned the outside and gently sanded the contacts. Would have caused electrical problems at some point. “Genuine Replacement Parts” website is where I ordered an OEM replacement from Whirlpool at less than half price ($68). Do not buy this one. When I bought this one, it did not have the “Frequently returned” warning banner from Amazon yet. It also did not come with any sealant/grease. I hope this helps someone make a sound decision.

Right replacement part. Looks like OEM
Part was what I needed. Packaging was poor, crushed cardboard box with no product info or instruction included. Install of the motor was easy after unplugging, disconnecting and pulling out. You need a torx type screwdriver for the 2 screws. See YouTube for some excellent instructions. Grommet fits loose on diverter shaft and fits very loose in sump. The grommet I replaced was much much tighter in the sump. The new part leaked after install, so I researched further and found out you need to apply silicone grease to the diverter shaft before placing the grommet on it. Once this was done it stopped leakingI will buy a water leak detector and put it under the dishwasher. The original design of the WDF760SADM1 and others using the same diverter motor makes it highly likely it will leak at the grommet and may require regular greasing and possible grommet replacement on a regular basis. My dishwasher is almost new with less than 100 cycles run. It looks like the leak is caused by the grommet failing and not the entire motor so starting by replacing the grommet is cheaper and easier. Whirlpool would like to charge over $90 for the motor and does not sell the grommet separately This part was less than $25 even with grease. The grommet only is $10-12. This leaking thing is a known issue, looks like whirlpool is selling a product known to fail then making you buy $90 parts that cost less than $20 to make, to get the $10 part you need to repair it. This is some next level Pharma Bro stuff. Right thing to do is supply the part free, thankfully Amazon and its venders have a more cost-effective fix. I will never purchase a product made by this crap Corp again

Partial fix...? The seal in the kit did not work...
I needed to replace the leaking diverter seal in my Whirlpool dishwasher. Since the diverter motor showed some water minerals on it due to the seal leaking over time I thought it would be best to replace both the diverter motor and the diverter seal. The motor in this kit went on nicely. However, the seal is slightly thicker than the original and it did not seal even after several attempts. Also, the small pre-installed spring inside the rubber seal rusted even after a few days. I kept the motor and ordered another heavy-duty yellowish color seal and that solved the leaking problem.
